Watch: When asked whether this peace deal was influenced by pressure from other countries and to what extent international pressure contributed to the agreement, Iranian political analyst, Mohammad Khatibi says, "I think many countries had an influence on the process, including Southeast Asian economies that were under heavy pressure due to rising oil prices, as well as countries in the Persian Gulf region such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain, which were affected by the conflict and the economic strain caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This war did not benefit anyone in the region. In my view, Israel was the only country that appeared to gain strategically from it, as it carried out operations against Lebanon and Iran and continues to occupy parts of southern Lebanon..."

Even this time, before the announcement of the peace deal, Israel launched an attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which Iran now sees as a red line. Iran did not respond to that, but in recent days we have seen that Israel has done its best to torpedo the agreement... Iran wants this war to end for many reasons, including the pressure on its economy and the fact that the current situation does not benefit anyone in the region..."
