They're not telling each other to be responsible men, they're advising men who don't want to be responsible to find perfect victims who'll suffer in silence to protect their reputations. We're never making it out of the woods.
Until you evolve, unlearn, relearn, and realize that women of this generation will not endure the bad treatments many of your mothers endured in the hands of your fathers, y’all will keep having failed marriages.
We don’t talk enough about how hard it is to start all over, whether in relationships or in life itself. You get into a talking stage, and two weeks in, you realize you’re incompatible. Then you’re starting over again, and again, and the cycle never seems to end. 💔
One of the hardest parts is meeting a new person and investing yourself in the so-called talking stage. You put in the effort to know them: sending “Hey Angel, good morning” texts, checking in to see if they had a good day, remembering small details they mentioned, making plans to meet, waiting for replies, wishing them goodnight, and even thinking about how to make them smile. You try to be thoughtful, supportive, and present. You invest your time, your energy, and your emotions into someone who might never value it the way you hope. The worst part is that you can never be sure if it will work out. When it falls apart, all that energy feels wasted, and you have to start over from scratch.
I completely understand when people choose to stay single because they are tired of this process. It is exhausting. You meet people and start to wonder if they are really even human: selfish, vain, manipulative, insensitive, cruel. Some men pretend to want relationships just to get sex, while some women are looking for financial support or favors. Everyone seems to be looking for what they can get.
The truth is, the dating pool is broken right now. You have to navigate it carefully, guard your heart, and accept that disappointment is almost guaranteed.
Y’all, be safe.
Let me educate you not with anger, but with truth. You assume South Africans lack exposure. You assume we believe other African countries are poor and undeveloped. That is not the case. We know the reality. We know Nigeria has oil. We know Ghana has gold. We know Kenya has tech. We know Botswana has diamonds. We know Zambia has copper. We know Zimbabwe has platinum and lithium. We know the DRC sits on $24 trillion in minerals. We know Africa is rich.
But here is what you do not understand, wealth beneath the ground does not translate to prosperity above it. You can have all the minerals in the world but if your leaders steal, your constitutions hostile towards humans rights, if your institutions are corrupt, if your people are divided by tribe, if your healthcare collapses, if your schools crumble, if your youth flee then you are poor. Not in resources. In governance. In accountability. In dignity.
We do not look down on Africa. We look at the mirror Africa refuses to face. We see our own flaws corruption, unemployment, crime and we fight them. We protest. We vote. We demand better. That is what makes us different. We do not run. We stay. We build. We hold our leaders accountable, even when it hurts.
You say we lack exposure. But we see you. We see your leaders flying overseas to get treated, some in our country to get medical treatment, while your children starve. We see your ports exporting raw minerals while your people have no jobs. We are not blind. We are not ignorant. We are honest.
The difference between South Africa and many other African countries is not wealth. It is the willingness to confront failure. We own ours. You run from yours. That is not a lack of exposure. That is a lack of accountability. And until you fix that, no mineral, no resource, no tweet will save you. Go home. Fix your house. Then talk to us about exposure.
One thing about Flu ? No Meds will end it quick enough sana 🤣. I have a theory that someone who takes flu meds & 1 who doesn’t will probably recover at the same time, I just can’t prove it. You’ll drug yourself with meds and you’ll still be man down until it’s done with you 🤧😩
I’ve probably said this before and I’ll say it again. In every social group with adults that have common interests, such may happen. It’s up to you to decide what you want out of that setting. Churches, MBA, the workplace, kids schools etc. It’s not unique to running clubs.
