i must unfortunately inform everyone viewing this page that i am a very politically heterodox and politically homeless person so if you're looking at my account to try and pigeonhole me into a certain stereotype it's not gonna really work. sorry lad.
@New_Alt_Ramen@yoggradon@MariGO2thepolls That's kind of the whole reason I find it such an interesting fact, it shows exactly that, the discovery of a new continent could mean as much or as little as what the people made of it.
@yoggradon@MariGO2thepolls Bering land bridge crossers.
Far eastern Siberian tribes in Chukotka, Kamchatka etc who have fished sailed to Alaska to fish and rediscovered America that way for the last few thousand years
Vikings 1000ad
Polynesians 1200ad, see the sweet potato
@Froggenthusias1 It's nothing new really, and it's a dumbass belief that nature is only pretty when it has 2 million trees every square mile. This is just kinda what happens when yankoids decide that both us and france are the safe edgy nations to hate on
This isn't the lorax lad the British countryside does not need trees to be beautiful. We have plenty of trees but only the real ones can appreciate the austere beauty of the aptly named peak district
@HarryRo40162630@AndyBurnhamFC Short term he was great, long term, overall good but a mixed bag, it's not like I dislike the guys tenure, I consider him high B tier because, even if you aren't able to see these issues in advance, I don't think that exempts criticism
@AndyBurnhamFC@HarryRo40162630 Right for the wrong reasons for Attlee. The town and country planning act 1947 is the real anti-growth NIMBY legislation rather than greenbelts. HS2 has needed 8000 planning permissions cuz of it, and means it's been 10x more expensive per mile of rail than france's TGV network
the change of grok's message limit from 20 messages every 2 hours to 20 messages every 24 hours seems a bit harsh, i get the guy wants his money but 12x less out of the blue is a pretty large downgrade, especially when there's so much competition which is alot more permissive
@staticvect0r@financedystop I'll take that as you conceding then. A shame, I do hope you figure out how useful free time is eventually. It's the main way you can have some actual agency instead of being stuck a mere cog in the machine if you spend it doing fuck all.
@staticvect0r@financedystop That's only a description, not a justification. The opportunity cost point still stands, nobody ever became a millionaire by replying to emails on a Saturday. The Dutch labour laws also give the manager zero way to dock his salary anyway, so he was right to call his bluff.
@staticvect0r@financedystop Compare that to what he could be doing outside in his "free time", running his own business, investing, improving his skillset, would you rather he do that or do effeminate team bonding exercises for 0 pay because muh manager said so?
@staticvect0r@financedystop If you are being required to work past the hours you are contracted for, you are either shit at your job or your manager is shit at task allocation. Judging from the managers grievances not being about his actual work, it's the second. No offer for payment either for this too.
@IsthmusPol Don't go too harsh on them they made this image before the results even came out and thought it'd actually be the case, they're trying to make the most out of a bad situation
