We never called for a boycott of all GMMTV artists, only the artist who mocked us. We will boycott this artist permanently. And You should verify the facts before spreading misinformation. BE PROFESSIONAL!

Myanmar’s traditional Oil Lamp Dance 🇲🇲🙏🏻
Rooted in the Buddhist ceremonial traditions of the Rakhine people, this sacred dance represents devotion to the Buddha and the beauty of Myanmar’s cultural heritage

The root cause is @GMMTV . All we are asking for is straightforward: when the series airs, give on-screen credit and clearly tell the audience that the traditional clothing, dance, and cultural elements were inspired by other countries, including Myanmar. That is the bare minimum.
Some of you keep saying “you all are too sensitive” “they already released a statement.” Let’s be precise. That statement only appeared after Burmese people publicly documented how the clothing and dance come from Burmese tradition, after the conversation reached over a million tweets, and after Burmese audiences called it out.
Only then did GMMTV say they “got inspiration.” If people had stayed quiet, that sentence would never have existed.
Even in the statement, there was no clear commitment to on-screen credit, a disclaimer, or proper acknowledgment when the series actually airs. That is why the issue grew. It is not about feelings. It is about basic cultural literacy. If something is inspired by another culture, it is not yours. Credit is not optional. That is what cultural appreciation means.
This is a Thai production, Thai cast, Thai language, and Thai company. Audiences will naturally assume the clothing belongs to Thai culture unless you say otherwise. GMMTV sells merchandise tied to their series. Viewers who like the drama may want to wear similar clothing. When that clothing is actually Burmese traditional dress, the lack of credit creates real confusion and real impact. A company with worldwide reach should understand this. Apparently they do not.
We like Thai culture. Many of us visit Thailand, eat the food, and support Thai artists. This has nothing to do with politics between the two countries. Dragging Myanmar’s crisis or war into a discussion about traditional clothing is irrelevant and uneducated. A country’s difficulties do not cancel its people’s right to speak about their own culture and history. Burmese fans have supported all GMMTV series, done fan projects, and shown appreciation for the cast. That support does not give the company permission to use the culture without acknowledgment. GMMTV used Burmese traditional dress, dance, and cultural elements without credit from the start. The “inspiration” statement only came after public pressure. That is the fact.
Admit the initial mistake and give proper on-screen credit with a clear explanation when the series airs. That is all. No one is asking for anything excessive. We are asking for the same basic respect you would expect if someone used your culture without saying a word. If that still does not happen, then the lack of respect is clear, and people will continue to speak.

📢 A Message to International Fans Regarding the Recent Post About Myanmar Fans
We would like to speak up on behalf of Myanmar fans to help prevent misunderstandings about our intentions and the actions we have taken.
First, we want to clarify that Myanmar fans are not boycotting every artist under GMMTV. We still love and support the artists we have always cared for. Our decision to permanently boycott one particular artist is separate from our feelings toward the others. It comes from the hurt we experienced when the love, kindness, and support we had given were met with actions that we felt were dismissive, disrespectful, and mocking of our feelings. We hope others can understand why this has deeply affected us.
Regarding GMMTV, our current decision to temporarily suspend support for its activities and artists’ projects is not an act of hatred toward the artists themselves. It is a peaceful way of expressing our disappointment and asking the company to acknowledge the cultural inspiration behind Scarlet Heart Thailand and give appropriate credit to Myanmar’s cultural heritage.
We are not asking anyone to take sides against Thai people or to stop loving the artists they support. We are simply asking for the recognition and respect that we believe our heritage deserves. We do not expect every artist to speak on our behalf, but we sincerely hope that, even if they cannot support our position publicly, they can respect our feelings by allowing us the space to be heard without ridicule.
There is a saying in Myanmar that when a neighboring household is mourning, the neighbors should be considerate and refrain from celebrating loudly beside them. We share this example not to demand that everyone grieve with us, but to explain why continued promotion and celebration can feel painful while we are still asking for our cultural heritage to be acknowledged. Sometimes, a little understanding and silence are more meaningful than words.
Myanmar people are often warm-hearted, kind, and sincere in the love we give. Many of us have spent our time, energy, and money supporting artists because we genuinely care about them. We never imagined that asking for recognition of our own cultural heritage would lead to so much misunderstanding and hurt.
We also acknowledge that some Myanmar individuals may have expressed their anger in ways that were inappropriate or hurtful. If any of our words have offended others, we sincerely apologize. Their words do not represent every Myanmar fan, just as no single person's actions should define an entire community.
All we ask is for Myanmar’s cultural heritage to be acknowledged and properly credited where its inspiration has been drawn upon. We believe this is a reasonable request rooted in love for our culture, not hatred toward another country.
Once this concern is addressed sincerely by GMMTV, we hope that understanding can be restored and that things can move forward peacefully. Until then, we ask for patience, empathy, and respect for the feelings of Myanmar fans.
Please do not mistake our silence, our temporary withdrawal of support, or our decision to set boundaries for hatred. We are simply people who love our culture and hope to see it treated with the same respect that we have always tried to show others.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to understand our side with an open heart.

Outsiders don't seem to understand our point. They ask why we can't just wait until Episode 1 airs. But we want to ensure proper credit beforehand.
It took GMMTV three whole days just to issue a statement acknowledging 'inspiration'.
Can anyone guarantee they will actually include proper on-screen credits when the show airs? That's why we are asking for clear confirmation before the series is released
We appreciate GMMTV's statement as a positive step. We hope to see clear explanations, proper respect for Myanmar’s cultural heritage, and suitable on-screen credits moving forward. @GMMTV

I also really like the beautiful culture of Thailand. I really wanted to wear Thai traditional clothes when I visited Bangkok. Now I feel like the ent doesn't care about us. I ask myself, am I not supporting them enough?

Honestly, what I finally realized is that even though our Myanmar usually stays trending, we end up getting ignored or looked down on because we are not a big 'goldmine' (money source) for them like others are. I am truly feeling really bad that things turned out this way. I also sincerely apologize to Uncle Tha for this. 🥺
However, just because of that, please don't disrespect Myanmar's traditional culture like this. If you use the culture of a country that ignored and mocked you, it won't be convenient for you all either. Therefore, please respect and acknowledge Myanmar culture."@GMMTV🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏

I’ve never watched the Chinese or Korean versions, but I was already excited to watch this series from the moment it was announced in the lineup because my favorite actors are in it. But now, even asking for recognition of our own cultural heritage feels so difficult. As a Myanmar fan, this genuinely breaks my heart. I just want to cry. 💔

Thank you for explaining it from a third-party perspective. His explanation is so simple and clear that there’s really nothing more to add. The English he used is straightforward and easy to understand. I hope everyone can understand his point.
