The intercontinental ballistic missile #Russia used against #Dnipro in the morning was allegedly the RS-26 Rubezh, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

As reported by Defence Express, the RS-26 Rubezh is designed primarily for delivering nuclear warheads. The missile was developed under high secrecy in Russia, as it violated the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

While exact specifications of the RS-26 remain unknown, likely characteristics include a launch weight of 40-50 tons, a range of up to 6,000 km, and four independently targetable warheads with a yield of 0.3 megatons each, similar to those used on the RS-24 Yars.

Although designed for nuclear payload delivery, the missile in this attack was used without such warheads, appearing to serve as a "show of force" and a means of psychological pressure. Even so, this act by Russia sends a deeply troubling signal.

Russian FM Sergey Lavrov arrived in Laos, where he will take part in the East Asia Summit (EAS) on October 11.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will also visit Laos to participate in the events of ASEAN, including the EAS, instead of Biden.

The Russian foreign ministry did not report on possible contacts with the American delegation, but in July, Lavrov and Blinken, who were also in Laos at the same time for events of these formats, did not meet separately. The foreign ministry also noted that Lavrov has scheduled bilateral meetings with Asian colleagues, but did not specify whom.
