This is why I can never say "I don't owe my friends anything".

When Purv got his first car in 2018( Lexus es 300), he taught me how to drive for two days and since then he'd throw his car key at me anytime I need to go out.

I had an accident with it two weeks after, I bashed someone's car while reversing. He got there, we negotiated the repair amount and he paid(I was broke). Guess what? He took a bike home and told me to drive the car back home😹.

Couple of months after, we were both heading to Abeokuta for a friend's wedding, I was the bestman. He received an emergency call. Guess what he did again? You guessed right! He got down, gave me the car key and told me to drive myself from Sagamu to Abeokuta cos I was the best man and he'd join me the next day😂.

If you're wondering, yes I got to Abeokuta safely.😂 That's one person I know that never doubts my potential.

One moment you are 17 worrying about JAMB and hoping to get into Uni.

The next moment you are 20 dealing with your first major heartbreak. The next moment you are 22, worried about graduating from Uni with good grades.

The next moment, you are a graduate, done with NYSC not sure exactly what life has for you. And then, you begin to take 100% responsibility for yourself. Your bills start going up because of the unending demand of adulthood.

And the next moment, you begin to lose friends, loved ones and even family to distance, conflict or even death. And that is when grief becomes a constant in life. And the thing about grief is that, it changes you. You are no longer the same person the day you lose a close one to death. And of course, you never get over it. You just get used to it.

Before you know it, you are in your 30s, healing from wounds, pains, traumas and baggages. And you begin to miss how life was when you were a child or a teenager. When the only thing you had to worry about was completing your Agric note or saving money to buy your crush a valentine gift.

Adulthood doesn’t give you the chance to catch a break. Good things will happen to you, bad things will happen to you, and things will keep happening to you whether you are prepared for them or not.

I don't know what the future holds, but if it doesn't happen through me, I'll definitely try my best to be involved in one, at least monetarily.

I love old people, caring for them and all. As a kid, I promised myself that I will have an old people's home and also a home for special needs children. I even have the name of the homes sorted, LoL. But as I grew older, I realised how much it actually takes to make that happen.
