Over 500,000 public sector beneficiaries have now registered for current bank accounts.

One participating bank will soon announce loans of up to 40 million IQD for any KRG beneficiary registered in the #MyAccount initiative — with zero collateral requirements.

The first ATM hubs are now fully in service in Suli and Duhok, transforming the public's engagement with their government.

Prime Minister @masrourbarzani requested a clarification from the federal court last month regarding the use of public and private banks for KRG's financial inclusion initiative, #MyAccount.

He argued that KRG employees, like Iraqi citizens elsewhere in the country, have the right to freely choose their bank, as long as the bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI).

The federal court responded publicly today, clarifying that public and private banks licensed by the @cbiraq and present in the Kurdistan Region can participate in the domiciliation of public sector salaries. It added that KRG employees have an inherent right to pick their bank, reaffirming KRG's rights under the law.

This clarification reinforces the CBI's role as the sole regulator of the banking sector. We will continue working with them to expand payment options in the coming months.

We are very pleased with today's clarification. We will now accelerate our goal of reaching one million accounts by the end of 2024. This is Prime Minister @masrourbarzani's promise.

We look forward to expanding partnerships with other private banks in the months ahead.
