Ukrainian farmer Oleksandr Hordienko has been posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.
He risked his life to clear mines from his own fields and shot down Russian drones threatening his land. Oleksandr was killed in a drone strike on September 5 in the Kherson region.
He was a man of courage and principle, he refused to abandon his home and people. Eternal memory!
Today, I’m in Kherson. It is already the third anniversary of the city’s liberation from the Russians – the occupiers fled, and we remember how the courage of our people made it happen, how Ukrainian flags returned to Kherson. I thank every one of our warriors who fought for Kherson, and everyone who is defending this beautiful city now – defending the lives of our people.
Killing thousands in Mariupol - and then bulldozing into the ground their homes (often with the dead bodies inside). A city of dead people without even a nameless grave. Thousands of lives, whole families, simply evaporated.
The enemy continues to do inhumane things every day: torture, harassment, loss. These are not single cases - this is the system Russia is trying to break our people. But even in these conditions, Ukrainian warriors remain unbreakable. 🇺🇦
