@IanSJohnston We generally ask people to open an issue (Help->Report a Bug) that asks for the feature first. That will allow us to discuss the best way to implement it. The MR will then close a distinct issue.

@IanSJohnston Here is the true use for AI. We have directions on the KiCad website but you can also just say to ChatGPT or agent of your choice "I'd like to contribute this code to KiCad, how do I do that?" and it'll give you steps to follow. Also, please do contribute one feature at a time
