Day 25: Bun Bun The Destroyer🐰| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
Bun Bun was a really fun character to do! Definitely out of my comfort zone, but I think this archetype is refreshing. Sometimes it's good to play a comedic relief character or a character who is so naive and innocent. Bun Bun does NOT understand how terrifying he is, which makes it so much more funny!

Day 24: Joey and the Mayor🦆| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
This was a script with 2 POVs, and I decided to record both, as I can take all the practice I can get, and it helps tie it together when listening without looking at the script! I will put the focus on Joey though!
Joey was one of those characters that I feel would invent the word "ragebait" in a fantasy setting. It is so hard to get anything serious to come out of his mouth, and whenever it does, it is always met with skepticism because no one expects it. Joey just does whatever he feels like doing, he's either drunk and getting into trouble, or sober and getting into trouble. I decided to make this take almost like he was recounting a memory from when he was wasted, but still laughing about it as he was sober.

Day 23: The Traveler🗺️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I had fun with this one but was so stumped on the walking, jogging, and running efforts. Efforts in general have been difficult for me, because when I do sounds like that, I feel like most of the time I default to my own voice and my own mannerisms because my body isn't used to doing efforts with another personality if that makes sense. It's a WHOLE different level of acting! This tested me, and I tried my best! Still very fun though! I treated the traveler as almost like a generic main character with a little bit of a problem reading social cues or understanding when he says something that is a little out of line. He is definitely a bit self centered, but can also be goofy and genuinely care about things. He doesn't want to get too attached though because he may just lose it....

Day 22: Wise Sage from a Dying World🌍| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I haven't done an old voice in SO long, so it took me a few takes, but I think I have one that I am happy with! This old Sage is someone who has a sense of humor, laughs at the irony of his statements, and although he may not be a very angry person, he is very wise, and can appear melancholic and sad quite often. No one really knows whether he is truly sad or not since his words are not indicative of it.

Day 21: Dumb, Lovable Jock⚽| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I LOVEE playing characters like this, I think they are so fun. I actually messed up one of the lines and kept it in for comedic effect since I feel like I stayed in character after messing it up and got right back into it, I think it unintentionally added some depth to him and made it more realistic. That's the fun in voice acting, you can make almost anything work if it fits the character, and just have some fun with it! I tried to also escalate the speech from making everyone believe, to getting everyone hyped up!

Day 20: The Preschool Helper🐶| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I had a very hard time with a high-pitched dog voice. If I am ever imitating a dog, it's always a low-pitched big dog like a newfoundland, kind of like Bond from Spy X Family. This was not my proudest work but I do think I did better than my first initial expectation when I read the lines! All of them can't be winners, now I know this might not be a character I would play in my career! It's all a learning process :)

Day 19: Nibbles😁| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I always have a great time playing goofy characters, I tried to make him sound like he is always positive, and he is always passionate about something. He just loves saying random things, and not making sense, so I also wanted to make sure I snuck in some lines where he almost has moments of self reflection or a very off moment where he CAN show his serious side, he just rarely does!

Day 18: The Beggar Thief🗡️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I tried some accent work here on top of a whole new character voice from my own, and made this character very gritty. I had a lot of fun, I love doing these hunched over mysterious characters! I imagined him always wearing a hood and sitting in the corner selling information. I envisioned him as Xur from Destiny with a bit of a hostile approach to him. He is paranoid by will, and justifiably so, seeing every detail with extreme caution and awareness.

Day 17: The Misunderstood Beauty🌹| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
This is one of my favorite reads yet! My mindset for this character was similar to a big "stud" pretty-boy, who uses his looks to make it seem like that's all he was ever conditioned to work with, but his emotions bubble over very easily when he realizes that people are questioning his intelligence, almost like everyone asks him "Is being good looking REALLY that bad?" He explains it calmly at first, but over time, he starts to get very frustrated. I hope the ending proves that he has matured into his intelligence and knows how to fight. For the efforts at the end I wanted to do variations. I wanted the first set of the efforts to be in front of someone who he wants to still be seen as less intelligent. For the second set of efforts, I wanted to make it so that he is starting to get frustrated with the fact that he has hid behind this beauty his whole life, and for the last set of efforts, he truly, fully, does not care.

Day 16: The Revolutionary Vampire🧛♂️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I wanted to make this character feel like he sways between being good and bad. He has had so much happen to him over his long lifespan, and he may lose his chill very easily, but still has the right ideas in mind. He uses dark humor and a stern voice, occasionally barring his fangs when he feels very passionate about a subject. On the surface, he seems like a dark and cold vampire, but underneath is a really soft spot for the future of the world and how he would like to leave it.

Day 15: Gooey Blob🟢| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
This was was very different but also very fun, I had to sit there and think about how I would have to portray emotions and actions without using words, but eventually I figured out how! It is probably obvious how I did it, but does anyone have any guesses? I really love the gooey blob! I made him kind of silly, but he is misunderstood. He also has anger issues so don't test him...

Day 14: K-Pop Hero🎤| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
The prompts for this one was a K-Pop idol in a fighting game. The idea was so cool and I loved screaming the efforts for him and making him a smooth criminal almost. I wanted to make sure I captured a bit of selfishness in his lines, but also a respect for the people fighting against him, since a performance like that does require two people!

Day 13: Schoolyard Bully👊| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I had a hard time figuring out a voice for him, but I made him a little higher pitched than my original voice, and I made him more like the bully that bullies because he just wants attention... not because he's actually mean. So I broke down at the end because he came to the realization that he's actually not a bad kid, and just wants to be included.

Day 12: The Idealist Rebel🏴| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I wanted to make the rebel a stone-cold hero with the emotion of a child. His voice cracks, he gets flustered, and he is stubborn, but he really cares about his cause, and may not do a great job of recruiting people to his cause.

Day 11: The Final Judge⚖️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I envisioned this as a more elegant version of Egor from the Persona series, with a smoothness of Neuvillette from Genshin Impact. I wanted him to resemble who you see when you are finished with certain missions. You will be dragged into a plain of his existence and he will speak with you and judge you. However, he doesn't care what you did, he just likes to be the one to tell you the consequences.

Day 10: Medieval Fighter🛡️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I had a lot of fun with this one too. The prompts said he is from a League of Legends style game, so I play League so I tried to make him have kind of the same vibe as Sett. I made the lines quirky, kind of serious, but also fun!

Day 9: Anime Protagonist⚔️| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
I had SO much fun with this one! I watched a lot of reference videos for this one, like Armin from AOT, and even Eren, to kind of hone in on that style of character, which I took this one for. I loved doing the final line, I love a good excuse to raise my voice!

Day 8: Fairy Guide🧚| 30 Day Character VO Challenge #voiceacting#voiceoverchallenge
This range is something I need more practice in, so I figured I would give it my best shot and fully commit to a higher-pitched voice. I rarely do higher-pitched voices, let alone a child-like one, with an ancient undertone! There was a lot to unpack here. I kind of wanted to treat the character almost like a more calming version of Paimon from Genshin Impact, with a more mysterious aura surrounding him. I wanted to show the sorrow in his life, since his lines were very depressing in my opinion, but I also wanted to show that he has a very childlike innocent view on the world as well, even though all that sadness!
