a lot of women whose work i admire didn’t get things really cracking until their like mid to late 30s (toni morrison, zora neal hurston, mariah carey, etc.). i genuinely am not rushing through life and am enjoying my journey/mistakes and am okay with delayed gratification
Your job as a writer is to write. You don’t need permission for that. Yes, there’s a business component. But nobody picked up a pen because they wanted to make a lot of money. It was because it was in your heart to. Don’t let the business pull you from why you picked up a pen.
