I compensated. I limped in a way that felt subtle (it wasn't). I told myself it would pass.
Until I finally got the answer: arthritis. What the fuck? I was not ready. Why was I not warned that this it what my forties would bring? I wasn’t ready
#45 and fucked
Grey Hairs, A bum Foot, and the very moment I realized I'm not "Too Young" for Arthritis. I found my first grey hairs along my hairline the way most inconvenient truths show up: quietly, casually, and with the audacity of someone who pays zero bills in my house.
For months, it hurt. Not "I wore cute shoes and now I'm being punished" hurt. Not "I walked around Target for two hours like it was cardio" hurt. This was the kind of pain that lingers, nags, and slowly turns you into a person who has opinions about flooring.
At first, I tried to be reasonable. Maybe it was the lighting. Maybe it was lint. Maybe my hair was just... reflecting wisdom. But no. It was grey. Real grey. The kind that says, "Hi. I live here now." and then there was my left foot. Smh!!
Folding fitted sheets is the bane of my existence. If you happen upon my linen closet and see them balled up in the top of the closet, mind ya bizness 😂😂😩. Good morning everyone 😁
