A Coffee farm located in Kibale, Kamwenge, near Kibale Forest National Park:- The Birth Place of Robusta Coffee. Not just #Coffee but one with a great story!
Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with just a single step.
On 3rd April 2024, we planted our maiden seedlings on the farm. The journey has began!
The steps are just humble but the dreams are big !

A king and A leader He was!
Our King, My King and My friend His Majesty Amooti Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, was not just a King. He was also a leader of exceptional vision.
He saw and worked for a better future for Toro and inspired many of his subjects to build it together with him.
He led us as his subjects well. He championed causes that sought to secure planet earth through his environmental conservation initiatives, he offered his own land, invested in & turned it into an agriculture demo farm at Bugaki in kyenjojo mainly to attract and inspire young people ( youths) into farming for job creation. His mindset was purely that of an organic wealth creator. His love for cows stood out so prominently that whenever he visited my home and other cattle farmers he never allowed us to end any interactions/ceremonies, without moving to check on and herd the cows. He particularly loved the Ankole/Entoro Long horned cows and chose to leave with them at Karuzika.
He had and exuded strong Courage in handling every task of a cause he believed in. He actively sold our beautiful Toro and Uganda to the world by championing many tourism initiatives including climbing the famous Mt Rwenzori in August 2022 . He started the 10-day trek just at the foothills and successfully reached Margherita Peak on August 7. He did all this not just for lesisure and fun but for raising awareness about climate change and promoting sustainable tourism in Uganda.
My King, Our King wasn't just only a king but a leader!
Amooti, even with the heterogeneous nature of Toro, you loved and United us all your subjects.
You didn't just complain or lament at society challenges. You showed and led the way on ; youth employment through farming, environmental conservation for safety of peope, plants and planet and you loved your country and proudly promoted it. You gave us answers and not anger on issues afflicting our country livelihoods .
I feel happy to have known you at personal level and called you a friend , but yet again feel so heavy in my heart to comprehend and accept the fact of your demise. Its so Painful!
To Akiiki, nyina omuka ( Queen) , take heart. God has a plan for u and has a plan for obukama bwa Toro( Kingdom of Toro).
May the Angels receive you Amooti in Glory and May God truly reward you for the good causes you championed for humanity!
Our hearts are heavy 💔 but we keep the faith as believers! @ObukamaBwaTooro
I have this afternoon in @Parliament_Ug laid on table and moved a motion for the 1st reading of the Food and Agriculture Regulatory Authority ( FARA) bill.
The bill if passed will create a Regulatory framework for manufacture, importation, exportation and distribution of veterinary drugs & equipment, Agricultural chemicals and application equipment as well as food & feed for public safety.
I look forward to processing and working on the bill together with the Committee of agriculture of @Parliament_Ug
We are in Vietnam for a Uganda 🇺🇬 Vietnam 🇻🇳 business summit.
We are also following up and reviewing implementation of the MOU signed in 2022 during the state visit of H.E @KagutaMuseveni .
To kick off our 3 day engagements here, my delegation and I, had a meeting this morning with the Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Hon NGUYEN HOANG HIEP.
Our discussion focused mainly on how to increase coffee production and productivity. The coffee growing profile of Vietnam is more or less the same as Uganda, with Robusta being over 80% and arabica below 20%. The difference however, is that Vietnam's productivity is much her than ours. They harvest on average 3.5 tonnes per hectare compared to ours of about 1 tonne or less per hectare. We shall be discussing more in detail; Measures and appropriate technologies for productivity enhancement. @MAAIF_Uganda@PS_MAAIF@DesireMuhooza@narouganda .
This afternoon, I presided over the graduation of 21 officers who completed the National Security and Strategic Studies Course at the National Defence College in Buikwe district. I congratulate them and urge them to provide strategic leadership in safeguarding our country’s security and development.
To build a strong centre of gravity for Africa, we must strengthen our defence capabilities on land, in the air, at sea and in space. At the same time, we must prioritise wealth creation because prosperity is the foundation of security. I wish them good luck.
Afande @mkainerugaba continues to show how Patriotic he is to his country.
The quick intervention to ensure our brothers and sisters get back home quick and safe is worth an applause.
To all PLU supporters, let's say

Asante mheshimiwa.
Its been a busy and productive day as Uganda Chaired the 19th EAC Council of ministers on Agriculture and food security here in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
We discussed and harmonised on issues to do with mutual recognition of veterinary drugs regulation,East africa Fertilizer Bill, Youth in agri-food systems, Control of Trans boundary disease like FMD , control of dangerous pests in certain crops and harmonisation on NTBs.
I thank my colleague Agriculture Ministers of East Africa partner states ( @jumuiya) for making my work easier as chair by choosing consensus on all issues as a method of decision making. Truly, the integration dream is alive and promising!
I thank our respective Permanent secretaries, senior officials and @jumuiya secretariat staff for dedicating their time to study the issues and thus enable us ( ministers) to adopt positions informed by science and research evidence.
Uganda has committed to host another extraordinary council of ministers in October on FMD control & eradication framework. @PS_MAAIF@RebeccaKadagaUG

Visited this afternoon Tripple J Agro farm in Bombo. Its an 80 acre dairy farm with 140 dairy animals indoors ( zero grazing). They are powering their operations 100% with Bio-gas from the animal waste. Its zero waste for them.
They are also processing yogurt and gradually going into pasteurized and powdered milk.
Excited to see commercial farmers investing and developing whole value chains on farm and therefore creating Jobs!
Our strategy as government in the next 5 years is to ensure that all clusters of farmers ( small, medium & large ) get supported to fully produce with added value. PDM interventions will be scaled up to support more small holders while favorable ( low or no interest) credit facilities will be rolled-out through UDB and other government banks to support the medium and large scale clusters. This is how the agriculture sector will create more jobs and contribute substantially to the 10 fold growth strategy of the economy and be able to sustain the agro-industries.
Took time to Trim off parasites to maximize the coffee yield at #KibaleCoffee
Farming is interesting! In 2yrs results are promising 👌
To God be the glory
Our 2 year coffee journey at @KibaleCoffee has been tough but exciting. Looking forward to a promising harvest. And if we manage to fully irrigate, productivity will be greatly enhanced!
I thank our on-farm teams for the hard work and care!
