@GleichMatias@k1rallik In my opinion, this goes beyond what is reasonable for a company to do; any active interference on a user's end sets a terrible precedent that could easily be taken advantage of at a later date, and by an organisation with less well-intentioned reasons.
@GleichMatias@k1rallik I don't think insults are necessary
Blocking players from games if they break in-game rules is fine with passive detection, and IP bans are reasonable.
Having an invasive kernel-level anti-cheat running at all times, which has the potential to do hardware damage, isn't.
@Pirat_Nation Sorry, but even if this is 100% well-intentioned, it goes beyond what a company should be allowed to do.
Allowing a company to damage or interfere with people's hardware, even against cheaters, sets a terrible precedent for what a private entity can do to a user's devices.
@discord What the hell do you mean by 'information we already have'? That's a fucking horrifying admission that confirms some of our worst fears about Discord.
"Why don't you want to give us your personal information? We already collect it anyway, so what's the problem?"
It's great to see #FixTF2 & #SAVETF2 have made progress;
I've had the first chance in a long time to queue for multiple games in a row, and over multiple days without seeing any bots at all!
This is a good sign. Keep up the effort, and pressure #Valve to keep #TF2 fixed.
@valvesoftware If you care as much as the community does about TF2, Please look to #FixTF2, Sign the Petition, and spread the word around.
Good practices need to be promoted when it comes to preserving games and doing nothing while the game is killed by bots isn't going to keep TF2 Alive.
I find it crazy that Valve has left TF2 to rot; one of the games that pulled so many to Steam and helped to make them a Giant of the Gaming Industry.
TF2 needs to be fixed and preserved so that it can continue to be one of the greatest games of all time.
