Mental Health for when its tough TIPS:
Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.
Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Pound store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire body, top to toe.
Put on clean, comfortable clothes. Grab your fav hoodie and sweatpants Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy pants? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.
Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.
Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organise one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.
Blast music. Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.
Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.
Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.
Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.
May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.
*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on. ***
In case nobody has told you today I Love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep kicking ass!!!!
***People don’t fake depression.. they fake being ok ***

Dear Younger Ladies!!!!
So I need to breakdown the "Friend Code" for some of you, because clearly there's too many girls going missing or getting killed.
This is how we "Old Schoolers" roll.
•Code 1: " We leave together... We stay together....We come back together. NO you're not leaving with some RANDOM dude & NO I'm not leaving you at the party by yourself!
• Code 2 " Both of us can't be sh*t face drunk (neither of you should) , at least one person needs to be alert & aware of our surroundings!
•Code 3 " If you got to go to the bathroom or outside ." WE'RE ALL GOING TO THE DAMN BATHROOM AND OUTSIDE!!" Period!
•Code 4 " We don't accept drinks from strangers unless we're at the bar and watch the bartender pour".
• Code 5 " if I feel like you're too drunk to function , we're leaving the party early". (We'll fuss about you messing up the night later)
• Code 6 " if you just so happen to go missing. I will give you a maximum 15-30 mins to show up before I Shut the place down and we ALL are going to be looking for your ass!!! FOR REAL!!! Everybody else can call the police cause I ain't going home without you!
• Code 7 "If you're fighting it better be one on one, otherwise we all fighting" (Hopefully this ain't jumpin off cause we too classy and ladies)
• Code 8 and the golden rule, "The drop off person check in or everyone who drove checks in when getting home" If we don't hear from you, we coming to ya house
Because these generations got the Friend Code messed up! ! This is how we were raised... #oldschool #ladiessticktogether #friendsdontleave

Let’s support each other
People recently (especially new followers) have asked me about SUKA @StandUpKickass and what it is So Let me tell you all about the SUKA Mental Health & Recovery community 💖
I started SUKA (Stand Up; Kickass) because to be frankly honest I was lonely.
When I left an abusive DV relationship 8 years ago, my mum had died just days previously, I'd checked into rehab before going into a women's aid refuge. That was when I realized I was alone in this world, really alone. My life simply SUCKED!. (I'll tell you more about that later in a post or something) I had pushed my friends away, my mental health was at ground zero and I had a young autistic son who needed his mum to be a functioning human being. and It felt like God had rescued me from one never-ending nightmare, only to drop me into another. I found myself asking, "Who am I?, what do I do now?"
My dad always said to me "You're mess becomes your message" previously I had been a youth worker and I'd been doing just that, helping young people figure out their lives and helping them navigate through the good times and the bad. So two years ago I decided I needed to get back into outreach work and with a young baby creating an online community made sense and it was the perfect fit. So I joined twitter to talk about issues that were important to me, offer support, get support and use this space as a therapy space as well as a connecting space. That's when I stumbled upon an extraordinary community of like-minded souls, countless individuals on their own sobriety, Recovery & Healing journeys. And it was from this that SUKA was born. We found a home in this community, a place to rebuild our lives, embrace our sobriety, heal and kick some serious ass in the process.
SUKA isn't just about giving up alcohol, drugs, or mental health struggles; It's also about embracing life with clarity, strength, and self-discovery. We arent just surviving, but thriving, healing and connecting and supporting each other through our journeys
As we share our stories, our struggles, and our victories, it breaks down walls of stigmas and becomes a collective story of resilience, hope, and the incredible connections we formed with one another.
Through SUKA, we begin to rebuild our lives, piece by piece. We learn to lean on each other, drawing strength from our unity. We transform our pain into personal growth, our despair into determination, and our isolation into a family of support network.
This is a new era for Mental Health! and it begins with us
I've had mental health problems since forever. I lost my parents young. I was abused & SA. I had addictions, self harmed. I've tried to take my own life but I fucking survived every single bad day I have ever had.
ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING!
Who is with me in ending the stigma and making mental health a priority? 🤘
