Pokimane is famous because she has always had favoritism with staff and was essentially a twitch “Plant”.

I remember starting on twitch 11 years ago. IRL/Just chat wasn’t a thing yet and you were not allowed to be out of game for more than 20 minutes.

Yet, staff allowed Pokimane to do “Dr Poki” for two hours straight. She was talking to her viewers and giving them “advice”. Basically nobody else was allowed to do this at the time and so she got a monopoly early on because of it.

She also was boosted a lot by male streamers early on, repeatedly and pushed in campaigns later on.

Pokimane was Twitch’s product that they artificially pushed. Without that and male streamers boosting her in league of legends, she would have never been known.

She’s not talented or interesting. And there’s plenty of pretty faces (including her own friends) that are better looking than her that don’t have to hide their side profile, wear such heavy makeup & filters every single day.

Not to mention, how she has to repeatedly “accidentally” show her ass bending into the cam, and once even her nipples (her tits fell out) to the camera to the point of literal compilations. That helps too, especially when staff let you do it.
