Football is ultimately about moments and memories - and I will never forget this night.
But it is heartbreaking that this tie, as well as battering Athletic Club in the semis, ultimately meant nothing. How that final made me feel will haunt forever.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
It is truly amazing to see a man who does not even follow his own religion confidently issuing doctrinal rulings about another religion.
@GadSaad's real problem with Muslims is that we still take God and His rules seriously, whereas Mr. Saad openly disregards any religious rules he finds mildly inconvenient. Hence why Mr. Saad has openly bragged about eating pork (and now shrimp).
When Mr. Saad sees so many Muslims in the western world praying five times a day, fasting in Ramadan, abstaining from pork and alcohol, or merely wearing a hijab in public, it drives him nuts. It is a reminder of his own weakness, his own lack of discipline, and his own disconnection from God.
And, of course, he is terrified that observant and civically engaged western Muslims will one day succeed in lobbying their political leaders to stop bankrolling the Israeli apartheid government's crimes.
By the way, the central doctrine of Islam is that there is nothing worthy of worship except for God, who is one and has no partners. Anyone with even an elementary understanding of Islam would know this. And if Mr. Saad ever studied his own religion, that doctrine would also sound familiar to him.
There will be many more varied tests for Michael Carrick and Manchester United to overcome… But seeing a squad that was so shackled and squeezed into something it is not, now playing to their strengths with courage and conviction is some sea change. There’s risk, intention, belief and bite, which has given rise to entertainment and enjoyment - they so needed to remember what that feels like

Our beloved father, Hazrat Maulana Qari Yusuf Ali Mangera of Clapton, London (born Kangwai, India) has just departed this world for the Heavenly Abode.
May Allah grant him complete forgiveness, raise his status in the 'Illiyyin.
Ramaḍān is a reflection of life itself—it comes with anticipation, it passes in a blur of days and nights, and before we fully grasp it, it is gone. Just like life: short, fleeting, and never guaranteed. What matters most is how we use the time while it lasts.
Dr. Ally Louks's PhD thesis is set to be one of the most influential theses of 21st century. Puts forward an original argument with remarkable clarity.
Already has 85M+ views on X/Twitter.
Most people criticizing her don't understand her argument at all.
I have a PhD in literary studies, and in this thread, we'll do a close reading of her abstract to understand her argument in simple English.
Kamala Harris' campaign had zero time to vet her VP.
But the entire internet had a whole weekend.
This digital grassroots vetting of Josh Shapiro will go down in the history books.
@leftofcool13@marclamonthill@MarquisDeSAHD @BettyB92548 Since I'm such an abject moron, please provide me the source of your "civilian" and "combatant" death counts. We must have different definitions of those terms. I know mine doesn't include innocent women and children.
Also, why does every Copa match feel like a fight waiting to happen?!? 😂 The football on display at Copa is what excites young kids about football. "Tacticians" like Southgate and Tedesco make their teams cringe to watch.
It’s 20 years today since England were beating France 1-0 going into stoppage time, but still lost 2-1.
Here are both of Zinedine Zidane’s goals from that night, in real time.
One of the most extraordinary endings to a match ever seen at a European Championship.
