First Aid 101:
1. Keep the person safe.
2. Stop the injury from getting worse.
3. Wait for the professionals.
It's the "First" help, not the "Final" help. Pass it on. #health#knowledge#firstaid
When someone is having a seizure, staying calm can make all the difference.
Remember:
1) Stay with the person.
2) Move dangerous objects away.
3) Turn them onto their side if possible.
4) Time the seizure.
5) Get help if needed.

Word of the Day: C.O.W.S.
A simple first aid acronym used to check responsiveness:
C -Can you hear me?
O - Open your eyes.
W - What's your name?
S - Squeeze my hand.
These simple prompts can help determine whether a casualty is conscious and able to respond.

If your child witnessed an emergency today, would they know what to do?
Basic first aid isn't just a life skill, it teaches children confidence, awareness, and how to respond calmly when it matters most.
Prepared kids are safer kids.

Every child deserves to be safe, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Today, we stand with the children of Oyo State and every child facing abuse, neglect, displacement, insecurity, or violence.
Children matter. Their wellbeing matters. Their future matters.
Word of the Day: Allergy
Not every sneeze is “just normal.”
Sometimes the body reacts strongly to foods, dust, medicine, or other triggers.
Teaching kids and parents to recognize allergies early can save lives. 💚

❌Putting something in someone's mouth during a seizure.
❌Shaking someone who fainted.
Both feel right. Both are wrong.
Here's what you should actually do.👇

If someone is choking, act fast:
• Stand behind them
• Wrap your arms around their waist
• Make a fist above the navel
• Grab it with your other hand
• Push inward & upward quickly
Repeat until the object comes out or help arrives.

Most kids want to be brave in an emergency.
But knowing when to call an adult IS the brave move.
3 moments every kid should know:
1️⃣ Serious injury or bleeding.
2️⃣ Someone can't breathe or is unconscious.
3️⃣ Fire, smoke, or a dangerous situation.

How do you explain epilepsy to a child?
Think of it as "electrical storms" in the brain. It’s a chronic condition to manage, not a sickness you catch. Knowledge is the best way to lead with empathy.

Seizures can be frightening to witness, but staying calm is the #1 way to help.
When we stay level-headed, we can protect others from sharp objects and ensure they breathe comfortably.
Let’s teach our kids to be the "Calm Hero" in any situation! #KidsHealth#FirstAid
First aid isn't about being a hero; it's about being a stabilizer.
When an accident happens:
1. Check for danger.
2. Call for help.
3. Apply "quick help" (First Aid).
You don't need a medical degree to make a difference. You just need a plan. #wellness#firstaid
Most people think First Aid is about fixing the problem. It's actually prevention.
The goal isn't to be a surgeon; it's to stop things from getting worse until a doctor or nurse takes over. That's why it's "First" - it's the bridge to safety.
#lifeskills#firstaid
Why is it called First Aid? It’s the immediate "quick help" given to keep someone safe until a doctor or nurse can take over.
Teaching kids the basics of emergency care builds confidence and saves lives!
