Legislation already exists which says children under 13 are not allowed on social media but many parents allow their underage child to have social media and the police do nothing. Why is that? #BBCQT

‘I hear a lot of: ‘Boys are like dogs. All they need is exercise and food’. That’s quite limiting’
BoyMum author @ruthwhippman told @bbcnuala about some of the ways she thinks people parent boys and why we should nurture them emotionally ⬇️
Would our young people give their own kids a smartphone?
Let's listen carefully to them - the people who have been most affected - then decide what's best for future generations.

Huge increase in child-on-child sexual abuse. 12 and 13 year olds gang-raping each other is becoming common in the news. This is because children are seeing hardcore violent p0rn online from a young age on smartphones. We have to end this now. https://t.co/JZjsIb36yk
#bbcdn kids don't need smartphones. They are addictive and dangerous. They only need a basic phone without internet for safety and communication. We need to raise awareness of the very real dangers of smartphones and the alternatives available
For far too long we've been letting kids down, putting them at great risk of grooming and exploitation online by saying the same things, talk to them, teach them how to be safe. Its not working. Its time to acknowledge that parents can take action and delay smartphones now #bbcdn
It's time to listen when our kids are saying things like this:
I can't control it
I wish I'd never had a phone
I wish I was drawing or playing outside
I've been wasting so much time
We can help them now 👉 https://t.co/C8IzWWyxuj
