Different places across the world every time, instead of having the races that are geographically closer back to back. For example, they should have the North America races back to back instead of having them split apart. Here is an example of the 2022 schedule.
@KIN110UofR an example of greenwashing that I had found is from formula 1. In 2026 they will introduce engines that contain sustainable fuel to be more green. However, formula one still uses planes to travel anywhere. The schedule forces the drivers to go to 1/2
With getting revenue from fans and have been a struggling franchise for many years. The new stadium would potentially cost 2.1 billion dollars. I believe that since the coyotes already struggle, this would cause the tax payers money to go to waste and force them into debt.
@KIN110UofR from our November 30th lecture we talked about the arguments of public funding. One example of public funding that I found is the NHL wanting to build a new arena for the Arizona Coyotes. However I think that this could cause an issue. The Coyotes have had issues 1/2
Many people liked the Marlboro sponsor because of how iconic it looked on the Ferrari. Even thought I agree that the sponsor looked good aesthetically, the harm that tobacco greatly out-ways the importance of having a “good-looking” car. https://t.co/83SEFkE92g
@KIN110UofR on the topic of public order, something that I thought of was Marlboro. Marlboro was a tobacco company that became synonymous with Ferrari as its sponsor. However, in 2005, the European Union banned the sponsor because of the harm smoking causes. 1/2
@KIN110UofR a serious crash. Right away the race has a red flag so that the race could be stopped. The cameras did not show the crash at first on TV. I believe that they did not want to show it on TV out of respect of the driver in case something serious did happen.
@KIN110UofR To discuss more on the topic of the ideological role of media and how events are always being edited on television, I wanted to talk about a crash that happened in formula 1 this year. In the British Grand Prix Guanyu Zhou got hit by another driver and had 1/2
@KIN110UofR in sports ethics when someone sacrifices there body for their team I find it very noble. This past Stanley Cup playoffs Andre Burakovsky revealed that he played in the playoffs with a fractured ankle. He ended up helping his team win game 1 of the final series.
…shared that Kessel does not like the taste of water and when they played together he would typically drink blue Gatorade instead. It is impressive that he has been able to play so many games in a row without having an impressive diet. 2/2 @KIN110UofR https://t.co/Ac0ucIoJtM
@KIN110UofR on the topic of deviance one person that reminded me of this is a hockey player Phil Kessel. He recently got the Ironman streak in the NHL. However he is not someone you would expect. Phil Kessel is known for eating very unhealthy and recently a former teammate… 1/2
Comments are made by males. Right around the time that we began talking about gender and sport, an Instagram page that I follow posted some of their statistics. The statistic that surprised me the most was the male to female ratio.
@KIN110UofR Sports still seems to be male dominated and one way to prove this is social media engagement. Over Instagram I follow many pages that cover sports like hockey, football and formula 1. In the comment section of these posts I notice that the majority of these 1/2
@KIN110UofR@KIN110UofR This webpage made by the official Formula 1 site shows how they are trying to educate the members of the F1 community. One thing that really stood out to me is that they would pay for a students engineering school if they are from a diverse background and from Europe.
@KIN110UofR I believe my playground encouraged #riskyplay as there were many high spots and it took them a very long time to renovate the playground in the first place.
@KIN110UofR The playgrounds that I grew up with were very standard. However the main one I went on got renovated. The original playground had sand around it. The playground also had many high spots compared to when it was renovated. The renovations changed the ground from sand to rubber.
@KIN110UofR Personally I believe that the athlete should be responsible for how they control their money. Part of life is learning how to responsibly save and spend money and I do not think that pro athletes should be an exception.
@KIN110UofR#comparitivesensitivity if I were to grow up in a place like South America I would not have been able to play hockey. Hockey was the first sport that I played and made many of friends that I still have today. Hockey is a big part of my family and friendships.
@KIN110UofR@KIN110UofR Sports are pervasive in my life because of my friends, family and social media. My parents have always put my in different sports. And as a result I got friends that liked sports. Also sports are all over my social media because I follow so many sports pages on them.
