Now that the tie is done, the embarrassment Barça have shown, from the fanbase to club staff and journalists, must be addressed.
Too much talk for a club that has made fewer UCL final appearances than Atleti in the last 10–12 years. Atleti have won two European titles in that period; Barça have won none, despite dropping into the Europa League twice.
Fans broke players’ windows on their way to Camp Nou. Staff and journalists have been complaining about the Metropolitano pitch since the Copa del Rey tie. Journalists were also harassing Giuliano and Musso after the first leg and fabricating non-stories. And earlier today, fans put stickers on the statue of Luis Aragonés outside the Metropolitano, a line that should never be crossed. Every decision that went against them was blamed on the referee, which is ironic, considering that’s exactly what they accuse their arch rivals of.
Sit down and be humble.
Good luck in the rest of your La Liga and Copa del Rey campaigns.
