Is there a “my kid is listening” mode on Apple Music so it doesn’t think that I personally like listening to Minecraft and Astro Bot songs on repeat? @AppleMusic
Holy shit. That's nearly 22,000 people and makes that 2/3 of the Northwest Territories under evacuation order. Almost unfathomable. #Yellowknife#NWTwildfires
Summer months off may not be the perk you think it is. For many educators, it’s a time for courses, prepping lesson plans, and learning new curriculum.
Great piece from highlighting #ETFO members’ commitment to prof. learning and their unpaid work. https://t.co/WcGI2cPPcB
Lately, people keep using the word "quiet" to mean "passive-aggressive" or "something bad that sneaks up on you" - as in, "quiet quitting" or "the quiet catastrophe of loneliness."
HERE IS ITS TRUE MEANING.
I hope you find some quiet this weekend -- and kindred spirits who know its value.

This is why educators are preoccupied with pride flags and safe spaces. I’m really fed up with people saying “Just teach. That’s your job”. If students don’t feel safe, learning can’t take place. All students deserve that, no matter the board.
ONA along with 4 other healthcare unions are calling on @fordnation to halt his plan for private, for-profit surgical clinics: a risky venture that will cost Ontarians dearly and damage access to public care.

Shout to all those who are working today to keep us safe - the winter maintenance crews, police, fire and paramedics, doctors, nurses and PSWs, and so many more. And let’s not forget the courier delivery folks making Christmas happen for millions. Stay safe out there #ONStorm
“But Mr. Scrooge, tomorrow is December 23rd. Everyone will be closed. There will be no-one to do school *with*”

@tylerwatt I had to explain to a student that the save icon was a floppy disk. He didn’t believe me. I probably should have let it go but I derailed my entire lesson to show my kids what I was talking about.
@A_TanyaCollins @HWDSB Again, the Trustees asking to defer and wait clearly do not recognize the emergency of this situation.
“My car is on fire. I shall take some time to recruit firefighters, train them adequately, and better fight this fire in a few weeks’ time”
This really hits home. I have been doing everything possible to keep my kids safe. I pray every day that my kids don’t need any medical interventions. Mac is over capacity. The VERY LEAST we can all do is to wear masks again.
More love, less hate. Deep breaths. Centre yourself. Find your happy place. Gratitude for what you have. Search for the silver lining. Be in the moment. I love you, goodnight.
@Sflecce Pics or it didn’t happen! I’d like to see that you actually sat down with @CUPEOntario and you weren’t just negotiating on social media spouting random data again. Can’t believe anything you say.
Here’s my question. Our CA says nothing about doing virtual teaching. We did it during a “once a in a century” pandemic. Why are we just accepting it as normal during CUPE strike? Tell me why I should work outside my CA? #GeneralStrikeON#FireLecce
🧵1/5 @Sflecce is intentionally misleading the public by lumping EAs and custodians in with teachers by saying “education workers”. Don’t be mistaken, this is intentional. We can talk about teachers wages later.
Enough with the "I thought it was about the kids" rhetoric. Educational workers didn't take a vow of poverty when they signed their contracts! #onted#cupe
