President Isaias Afwerki met, this morning at Ad Halo, a delegation led by Mr. Hu Changchun, the Special Envoy of China's Foreign Ministry to the Horn of Africa. President Isaias underlined the imperative for China to foster ties of constructive engagement with Africa to bolster and strengthen capacity building in these crucial times of global change and that is not encumbered by sheer competitive perspectives. The President further referred to China's potential role in playing a positive role in the resolution of conflicts in the Horn of Africa region that are often fomented and exacerbated by intervention of major external powers. President Isaias also affirmed that Eritrea will strive to consolidate the 70-year old warm and bilateral all-rounded ties with China. Mr. Hu Changchun, for his part, conveyed President Xi Jinping's message of goodwill to President Isaias Afwerki and ascertained China's readiness to enhance its strategic partnership with Eritrea. The Special Envoy further elucidated that China will strengthen its partnership with Africa which is hinged on capacity building and self reliance.

ስለዚ፡ ኮም ዝሰረቱ ንጥፈታት ምዕባለን ወፍርን፡ ብዝለዓለ መልክዑ ክድፍኣሉ ለበዋ ዘድልዮ ኣይኮነን። እቲ ምንታይ፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ልምዓት፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ምዕቃብ ማይን ሓመድን፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ምግራብ፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ስፖርታዊ ንጥፈታት፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ትምህርታዊ ንጥፈታት፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ሕርሻዊ ንጥፈታት፡ ኮም ዘይተሳተፎ ከባቢያዊ ጽሬት ወዘተ፡ ክዕወት ስለ ዘይክእል፡ ኮም ዝሰረቱ ልምዓትን ህንጸትን ክሕይል ይግባእ።

ነበርቲ ዳምባን ዓዲ ቐረጽን፡ ሓደ ኣብነት ናይ’ዚ ክግለጽ ዝጸንሐ’ዮም። ንሳቶም፡ ነቲ ካብ ቀንዲ መስመር ኣስመራ - ደቀምሓረ ተበጊሱ ናብ ዓዲታቶም ዘእቱ፡ ኣብ ኣገልግሎት መጐዓዝያ ከጋጥሞም ዝጸንሐ ጸገም ንምቅላል’ዮም ናይ ሓመድ ጽርግያ ብወፈራ ብምጽጋን፡ ዓቢ መስተርሆት ዝፈጥር ስራሓት ዘሰላስሉ ዘለዉ። እቲ ብማሽነሪ ተደጊፉ ዝካየድ ዘሎ ምጽጋንን ምግፋሕን ዘጠቓልል ��ደብ፡ ካብ እምበይቶ ተበጊሱ ንሰለስተ ዓድታት ማለት ዓዲሕደሮም፡ ዳምባን ዓዲ- ቐረጽን ዘራኽብ 13 ኪሎ-ሜተር ንውሓትን 7 ሜተር ግፍሕን ዝሽፍን እዩ።

ምምሕዳር ከባቢ ዳምባ ዓዲ-ቐረጽ፡ ካብ ኣስመራ ንሸነኽ ደቡብ 25 ኪሎ ሜተር ርሒቓ’ያ ትርከብ። መስመር መጐዓዝያ ዳምባን ዓዲ-ቐረጽን ድማ ኣብ ዝሓለፈ ግዜ፡ ብሰንኪ ዘይጥጡሕ መስመር ተቛሪጹ’ዩ ጸኒሑ። እዚ ከኣ፡ ኣብ ነበርቲ ብሓፈሻ፡ ኣብ ኣደታት ድማ ብፍላይ፡ ኣብ እዋን ሕርስን ጥን��ን ሕክምናዊ ኣገልግሎት ኣብ ምርካብ፡ ከምኡ’ውን ኣብ ምርካብ ስሉጥ ማሕበራዊ ኣገልግሎት፡ ጸገማት ክፈጥር ክኢሉ’ዩ። በዚ ሕጂ ተገይሩ ዘሎ ጽገናን ምምሕያሽን ናይ’ቲ መስመር መጐዓዝያ፡ ክልቲአን ዓዲታት ዝነበረን ጸገማት ከቃልላን ዝሓሸ መስተርሆት ክረኽብን ከኽእለን’ዩ። ኣብ ነበርቲ ክልቲኣን ዓድታት ዝንጸባረቕ ዘሎ ሓያል ናይ ምርድዳእን ውዳበን ተሳታፍነት ከኣ፡ እቲ ስራሕ ብዓወት ኣብ ምስልሳሉ ልዑል ኣበርክቶ ክህልዎ’ዩ።

እቲ ዝጽገን ዘሎ መስመር መጐዓዝያ፡ ንዞባታት ማእከልን ደቡብን ስለ ዘራኽብ፡ ስትራተጂያዊ ኣገዳስነቱ ዕዙዝ ከም ዝኾነ’ዩ፡ ካብ ክፍሊ ህንጻዊ ልምዓት ዞባ ማእከል ጆሜትራ ኣማኑኤል ምሕረትኣብ ��ሕብር። እቲ ስራሕ ዝዕመም ዘሎ፡ እተን ዓድታት ብዝወሰድኦ ተበግሶ፡ ብክፍሊ ህንጻዊ ልምዓት ፍቓድ ስለዝተዋህበን ከም ዝኾነ ጠቒሱ ከኣ፡ በቲ ዝካየድ ዘሎ መስርሕ ምጽጋንን ምስፋሕን መስመር መጐዓዝያ፡ ነበርቲ ንዘርእይዎ ዘለዉ ተወፋይነትን ጻዕርን ኣድናቖቱ ገሊጹ። ጆሜትራ ኣማኑኤል ምሕረትኣብ ኣስዒቡ፡ ዝጽገንን ዝመሓየሽን ዘሎ ናይ ሓመድ ጽርግያ፡ ናይ ማይ ክዖ መንገዲ ከም ዝስርሓሉ ብምሕባር፡ እቲ ��ደባት ክሳብ ዝዛዘም፡ ተሳታፍነትን ኣበርክቶን ናይ’ተን ዓዲታት ብኹሉ ሸነኹ ክዓዝዝ ተማሕጺኑ።

ኣመሓዳሪ ምምሕዳር ዓዲ ዳምባን ዓዲ-ቐረጽን ኣቶ ዮውሃንስ ሃብተጽዮን ብወገኑ፡ “ዓዲታት ዳምባን ዓዲ-ቐረጽን ካብ ጽርግያ ምሕድግ ዝበላ ብምዃነን፡ ኣብ መጐዓዝያ ክጽገማ ጸኒሐን’የን። እቲ ዝርካቡ ዝነበረ ናይ ሓመድ ጽርግያ’ውን፡ ብምኽንያት ዲጋ ዓዲ-ኣሕደሮም ተቛሪጹ’ዩ ጸኒሑ። እንተ ኾነ፡ ነፍሲ-ወከፍ ነባሪ ናይ ክልቲኣን ዓድታት 2 ሽሕ ናቕፋ ክኸፍል ሳላ ዝተገብረ፣ ኣብ ወጻኢ ሃገር ዝነብሩ ተወለድቲ ድማ በብእጃሞም ገንዘብ ሳላ ዝተሰልዓሎም፡ መስርሕ ምጽጋንን ምስፋሕን ናይ’ቲ ጽርግያ ክብገስ ክኢሉ፣ ኣብ’ዚ ሕጂ በጺሑዎ ዘሎ ጽቡቕ ደረጃ’ውን በጺሑ” ድሕሪ ምባል፡ ነበርትን ተወለድቲ ዓዲን ንዝወሰድዎ ሓያል ተበግሶ ሞጒሱ።

ኣብ’ቲ ወፈራ ዝሳተፋ ዘለዋ ኣደታት ክልቲአን ዓዲታት፡ “ሆ ይብሃል ኣሎየ ኣፍሮ ንዓ ተሎ”፣ “ሳላ እዞም ደቀየ፡ እሾኽ’ኳ የብላ መንገደየ” እናበላ’የን፡ ንወፋሮ ሞራልን ተስፋን ዘስንቕ ጥዑም ደርፊ እናደረፋ ዝሰርሓ ዘለዋ። እዚ ከኣ፡ ነቲ ስራሕ ፍ��ይ ሓጎስን ኒሕን እናስነቐ፡ ብናህሪ ክጐዓዝ ኣኽኢሉዎ ኣሎ። ኣቦታት፡ ተመሃሮን ህጻናትን እውን፡ በብእጃሞም ኣበርክቶኦም እናወፈዩ ይሰርሑ ስለ ዘለዉ፡ እቲ ተጀሚሩ ዘሎ ስራሕ ብውሁድ ቅልጽም ህዝቢ ብዓወት ከም ዝዛዘም ዘጠራጥር የብሉን።

ነባሪት ዳምባ ወ/ሮ ጽገሬዳ በላይ፡ ብሰንኪ’ቲ ኣብ’ቲ ዓዲ ዝነበረ ጸገም መጐዓዝያ፡ ብፍላይ ንደቂ ኣንስትዮ ኣብ እዋን ጥንስን ሕርስን ጸገማት የጋጥመን ምንባሩ ጠቒሳ፡ ነቲ ጸገም ንምፍታሕ፡ ንዝተዋህቦም ሰራሕ ብሕጉስ መንፈስ ተቐቢሎም፡ ብጉልበቶም ይሰርሑ ከም ዘለዉ ትገልጽ። እቲ ተጀሚሩ ዘሎ ስራሕ ብዓወት ክሳብ ዝዛዘም ከኣ፡ ብመራሕቲ ናይ’ቲ መደብ ዝውሃቦም ሓበሬታ ኣብ ምትግባር ድሉዋት ከም ዘለዉ ትሕብር።

ነባሪት ዓዲ-ቐረጽ ወ/ሮ ግደይ ኣለማዮ ብግደኣ፡ ካብ ዓዲ-ቐረጽ ናብ ጽርግያ ንምብጻሕ ዘሎ ርሕቀት፡ ብእግሪ ናይ ክልተ ሰዓት ጉዕዞ ምዃኑ ብምሕባር፡ እዚ ከኣ፡ ኣብ ነበርቲ ከቢድ ጸገማት ፈጢሩ ከም ዝጸንሐ ኣብሪሃ። ሕጂ ግን፡ ጸገማቶም ዝፈትሕ ናይ ሓመድ ጽርግያ ይስርሓሎም ስለ ዘሎ፡ ብወገና ኣብ’ዚ ወፍሪ ብምስታፋ፡ ሕብንቲ ምዃና ሓቢራ። ነቲ ዕማማ ኣብ መወዳእታኡ ኣብ ምብጻሕ ��ማ፡ ብዝክኣላ ከም እትሰርሕ ኣረዲኣ።

ኣቶ ጎይትኦም ጊለ ፍስሃየ፡ ተወላዲ ዳምባ ነባሪ ከተማ ኣስመራ ከኣ፡ እቲ ስራሕ፡ ክሳብ ሕጂ ብጽቡቕ ይሰላሰልን ይዕመምን ከም ዘሎ ጠቒሱ፡ ህዝቢ ክልቲአን ዓዲታት ንዘርእዮ ዘሎ ተወፋይነትን ውህደትን ንኢዱ። ምስኡ’ውን ኣብ’ቲ ስራሕ ዝዋፈሩ ዘለዉ መሻርኽትን ነቲ ስራሕ ዝከታተልዎ ዘለዉ ዝምልከቶም ኣካላት መንግስትን ብዘርእይዎ ዘለዉ ልዑል ተሳታፍነት ኣመስጊኑ። ኣብ መጻኢ’ውን፡ እቲ ዕማም ክሳብ ኣብ መፈጸምታኡ ዝበጽሕ፡ ኩሉ መዳያዊ ኣበርክቶን ጻዕርን ነበርቲ ክዓዝዝ ተላብዩ።

On December 2, 1950, UN Resolution 390 (V) established a federation with Ethiopia, making Eritrea an autonomous region under the Ethiopian Crown. This resolution, sponsored by the United States, prioritised Cold War strategic interests over Eritrean self-determination. American Secretary of State John Foster Dulles famously stated: “From the point of justice, the opinions of the Eritrean people must receive consideration. Nevertheless, the strategic interest of the United States in the Red Sea basin and considerations of security and world peace make it necessary that the country be linked with our ally, Ethiopia.” Unlike other Italian colonies that were granted independence after World War II, Eritrea was denied its right to self-rule. Days later, Emperor Haile Selassie declared a national holiday to celebrate the “restoration” of Eritrea. During a luncheon attended by the U.S. Ambassador, the Emperor expressed gratitude for America’s decisive role in the United Nations decision. In exchange, the U.S. gained significant military advantages. On May 22, 1953, Ethiopia allowed the United States to establish military bases in Eritrea, including Kagnew Station in Asmara, which was the world’s largest overseas spy facility at the time. Subsequent agreements included comprehensive military aid and training for Ethiopian forces. The UN-mandated federal arrangement granted Eritrea legislative, judicial, and executive autonomy in its domestic affairs. However, from the beginning, Ethiopia treated this arrangement with disdain. The monarchy began systematically dismantling Eritrean autonomy, setting the stage for annexation. Our conversation covered key developments in the #HornOfAfrica, with particular attention to the evolving regional dynamics that could endanger the stability of the wider region. Reiterated the need for principled position on sovereignty, territorial integrity, and enduring commitment to regional peace and cooperation.
