@MariaMonse8888 @hovah76 She can’t create her own shot and shooting is streaky at best. Very inefficient, but she has great court vision and passing is definitely her strongest attribute. In the playoffs, her teammates will get in foul trouble because she requires too many screens set due to first point.

@MariaMonse8888 @hovah76 Maria, she is not just getting started. I have seen her predictable moves since her Iowa days. Her style works in college more effectively than the pros. She would be a great player but she has to learn to play defense, take smarter shots, and develop a mid-range game.

I am not a hater; however, I have been following this league since the first game in 1997 and I refuse to accept narratives that she is the greatest of all time. She isn’t the best player in the league currently.

@hovah76 There will be a few more re-evaluations this year. A first-round exit from the playoffs this year with her actively playing should add more skepticism to her hype and aura. The guard position is only going to be more competitive with an upcoming strong draft class.

@hovah76 I believe that the overall hype is starting to fade. The first dip occurred last year after the “injury”, but the team was an overtime from the Finals, and then after the Fire blowout, the mainstream media reaction caused a re-evaluation.

@chicagosky @Ford The Sky needs another point guard, Cardoso is way too passive of a player at times to be a consistent threat, and nurse needs to be waived. If Sloot comes back next year, she needs to come off the bench.

@Verysimpleidea @IndianaFever @caresource She is slumping, but teams are figuring out her limited offensive moves. Very predictable. If her three ball is not connecting, she is very limited. Her greatest asset is passing. She is a streaky shooter at best.

Beautiful people, Happy New Year! I am going to take more time before I regularly record again. I smile a lot but the truth is that I have been so depressed since completing my PhD. 2024 was one of my personal worst years. I hope to be strong in 2025 and the plan is to resume Kiko’s Freethinker’s Forum in March.
