To understand why Trump plays into the Kremlin’s hands, it is enough to take a quick look at the biography of his wife, Ivana Trump.
She was Czech, grew up in communist Czechoslovakia, spoke Russian well, and was involved in competitive skiing, even becoming a candidate for the national team. At the age of 22, she married an Austrian and moved to Austria. She later went to Canada, divorced her Austrian husband, and at 28 married Trump, the son of a wealthy real-estate developer. Ivana’s parents continued to live in Czechoslovakia.
Trump traveled to the Soviet Union in 1987 and subsequently returned to Russia on numerous occasions. He pursued extremely risky ventures, including in the casino business, yet somehow kept managing to come out relatively unscathed.
Ivana divorced him in 1990, just as the Soviet Union was beginning to collapse. After 1997, a financially devastated Trump somehow began rebuilding his business empire, while at roughly the same time the FSB was consolidating its influence in Russia. In 1998, Putin became head of the FSB.
You know what happened next.
Now let’s read the same information through the eyes of a novelist.
Ivana Trump spoke Russian well — which, in this version of events, would mean that she was within the sphere of influence of the KGB and Státní bezpečnost, the Czechoslovak secret police. She was an athlete — so perhaps she could have received training alongside special-forces groups operating under the cover of sports teams.
She could not have married an Austrian and left the country without the approval of Státní bezpečnost, the theory goes, meaning that she received permission and went to Austria as an agent, perhaps tasked with preparing locations for special-forces operations. She was then transferred to Canada.
Meanwhile, her parents remained in Czechoslovakia under the watchful eyes of Státní bezpečnost and the KGB — effectively hostages.
After meeting Trump, Ivana supposedly began steering him toward cooperation, eventually resulting in his trip to Moscow. When the Soviet Union collapsed and Ivana’s father died, the leverage over her disappeared. She divorced Trump.
But then the FSB — successor to the KGB — began gaining strength again. Someone remembered a promising former asset and started helping him. Eventually, he became President of the United States and, according to this theory, continues secretly working for the Kremlin from that position.
That, roughly speaking, is what this scenario would look like.
And considering that the KGB once managed to recruit a President of Finland, such a version of events is not entirely beyond the realm of imagination.

Seeing this everywhere, the old Silver Bullets are out of service, the new container system would have been used (or maybe not at all depending on the security concerns of landing in Moscow).

Vladimir Putin has become responsible for a scale of death and destruction that dwarfs the record of many of the terrorists whose names once terrified the world.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, the UN has VERIFIED more than 16,000 Ukrainian civilians killed — including hundreds of children. By the end of June 2026 alone, the verified toll stood at 16,431 dead and 48,613 wounded. And the UN repeatedly warns that the real numbers are higher.
Schools. Hospitals. Apartment buildings. Shopping centers. Power stations. Entire Ukrainian cities have been bombed, burned and reduced to ruins.
And Putin has devastated his OWN country as well.
According to CSIS estimates, Russia has suffered roughly 1.4 MILLION battlefield casualties since February 2022 — killed, wounded and missing — including approximately 400,000–450,000 dead Russian troops.
Think about that.
One man's imperial obsession has consumed hundreds of thousands of Russian lives while killing thousands upon thousands of Ukrainians.
Osama bin Laden masterminded attacks that killed thousands. ISIS terrorized countries across continents.
Putin commands something vastly more powerful than either ever possessed: a nuclear-armed state, one of the world's largest militaries, enormous natural resources and a population of more than 140 million.
That does not make the destruction less horrifying.
It makes the capacity for destruction enormously greater.
And here is one of the most absurd facts of all:
Russia stretches across 11 time zones, possesses staggering quantities of land, oil, gas, minerals and other resources — yet its entire nominal economy is smaller than that of ONE American state.
Texas: about $2.9 trillion.
Russia: about $2.56 trillion.
Putin doesn't need more land.
Russia doesn't need more land.
He is sacrificing human beings to seize somebody else's.
Meanwhile, members of Russia's ruling elite and Putin's own family have repeatedly been linked by investigations to extraordinary wealth, luxury property and comfortable lives in the very Europe the Kremlin spends years portraying as Russia's enemy.
And then comes the propaganda machine.
People are free to argue about politics. They are free to criticize Ukraine, NATO, America or anybody else.
But knowingly spreading fabricated Kremlin propaganda that excuses attacks on civilians, celebrates aggression or whitewashes war crimes is something entirely different.
Propaganda is not harmless when it helps normalize mass violence.
Putin's greatest weapon is not only the missile.
It is the lie that makes people stop caring when the missile lands.
