Here's a good test case. We are happy to be sued by 300 people, mostly from #Chicago (including a billionaire), who want exclusive use of the word Killarney for whisky and other products. A good public interest question. Check back for our defence in due course.
Provenance is important, especially for whisky. Is it ok to use a placename if you don't make whisky there? Is it right to trademark well known placenames? We say no. Placenames are cultural heritage.
