📣 Disclaimer: This post is for ARMYs who genuinely believe BTS should be recognized as global artists beyond the K-pop label. If that isn't your perspective, this post probably isn't for you.
There's something that's been on my mind for a while.
This isn't about me. It isn't about what I personally want. At the end of the day, we're all here because we want the best for BTS. We spend our time on these platforms because we want to amplify their artistry, celebrate their achievements, and help more people discover their music.
So I think it's worth asking ourselves one question:
Are our conversations actually helping BTS achieve that goal?
Many of us get frustrated when the industry tries to put BTS in a box.
We criticize Spotify when BTS's pop and hip-hop songs end up only on K-pop playlists. We question award shows when they create K-pop-specific categories instead of letting BTS compete in the main field. We don't want BTS's music reduced to a single label.
But then... what are we doing?
A lot of us are still tracking every K-pop release. Comparing BTS to K-pop acts. Quoting fan wars. Celebrating achievements by saying, "BTS is still the most-streamed K-pop artist," instead of simply saying what is already true:
BTS is the biggest group in the world.
Every time we make K-pop the center of the conversation, we're reinforcing the very box we say we want BTS to break out of AND the box BTS is VERY clearly aim to break out of themselves.
Yes, there are moments when misinformation or serious allegations deserve a response but not every piece of bait deserves our attention.
If an account is clearly rage-baiting to drive engagement for their own fandom, why are we helping it spread? Why are we giving those posts millions of extra impressions through quote tweets and replies instead of putting that same energy into amplifying BTS's music, achievements, interviews, performances, craft and critical recognition?
Today, for example, there was an article by Forbes about BTS's Grammy prospects. Conversations like that help place BTS where they belong: alongside the biggest artists in the industry. Yet those discussions often receive far less attention than another pointless fan-war tweet.
That imbalance is worth thinking about.
This isn't about satisfying our egos or winning arguments with strangers online.
It's about BTS.
If we truly believe they belong on the biggest stage in the world, then our conversations should reflect that belief.
Let's spend more time amplifying BTS's artistry and global achievements than arguing with accounts whose only goal is to bait engagement a d promite their flop faves THROUGH us.
Let's be intentional with the attention we give. That's one of the most powerful things a fandom can do.

Yes because BTS wrote the whole animation and decided that those three seconds would have white people there. Mind you it wasn't a history lesson about the school it was about seven Korean men

monthly listener is fraud when you barely pull any equivalent numbers on chart, ML solely depends on radioplay, playlisting and collabs with A list, having 35M listener and pulling 30M is normal but if you've 50M listener and pull 15M then It's based on payola as experts say 🤔
