@dieworkwear I recently wore a full length, dark purple velvet coat to my nephew's wedding. I bought it while shopping with his mother, 27 years ago, 2 weeks before he was born. It still looks fabulous.
@wmarybeard I cried during a bollocking by a fierce editor who then argued that in the age of equality I had no right to cry. I said that in the age of equality I could cry if I liked. He never shouted at me again.
If you could retweet my tweet below linking to my Etsy shop (2025 half calendars, July-Dec) it would put my shop in front of more eyes and would help more than you know. I'd appreciate it so much. Thankyou 🌿
WATCH WAVERLEY’S RETURN TO CRINAN📽️
On Monday 19th May, Waverley made her first call at Crinan since 1995 during her sailing from Glasgow to Oban. After departing Glasgow at 7:30am, she arrived at Crinan nearly 11 hours later, having called at Largs and Campbeltown before rounding the Mull of Kintyre and sailing up the east side of Gigha.
We’re delighted to share a video of this rare and memorable visit. We would like to extend a special thanks to @scottishcanals for allowing Waverley to call at Crinan once again.
The Crinan Canal, stretching 9 miles through Argyll and Bute, connects Ardrishaig with Crinan and offers a shortcut between the Firth of Clyde and the Inner Hebrides.
Want to explore the other end of the Crinan canal?
Waverley sails to Ardrishaig on Sunday 17th August. Join us from Glasgow, Greenock, Largs or Tighnabruaich and enjoy time ashore to discover this unique village.

PADDLE STEAMER WAVERLEY GIVEN WATER CANNON SALUTE TO MARK 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF PRESERVATION
This week marks the 50th Anniversary since Waverley first sailing in preservation. Back on the 22nd May Waverley sailed with invited guests offering a thank you cruise to those who had helped her return to passenger service after famously being gifted for £1.
Throughout her preservation career Waverley has required the generous support of many individuals and organisations to help keep her in service. Once such company that has been very supportive is Clyde Marine Services based at Greenock’s Victoria Harbour.
Clyde Marine Services largest tug CMS Thunderer is currently working on the west coast near Oban and this morning (Tuesday 20th May) offered Waverley a marvellous Water Cannon Salute as a mark of respect as the ship commences her 50th year of active preservation and a welcome back to the stunning west coast.
We would like to thank Clyde Marine Services for all the support given to Waverley with providing tugs for dry docking and for putting on such a display this morning.
@bo66ie29 Children with older siblings who they have trained to bring them toys often walk later. My friend’s youngest didn’t walk until his second birthday. His Mum never panicked about this, which I thought was very sensible.
