Hello everyone! Hopping on here to thank everyone for dropping by these past six months! When I started this project to gather data, I truly never thought that it will evolve into such a wonderful community, filled with laughter, misinformation, gamba-ing and so much joy. It was small, but every week I find myself looking forward to streaming so that I could chat with all of you. It got me wondering…what if I never did stopped this project, and continued streaming as Kilo? How would I change? How would this community change?

But alas, all things have to come to an end, and on my supervisor’s advice, I decided to focus instead on my report. Frankly, I intruded abruptly into this community with a question and left abruptly with so so much more than I could have imagined, and I feel sorry that this six-month project had to end this way. But ultimately that is my job – to translate and redirect the unspoken into words so that others can see and understand how precious the VTubing community. In such a profit-driven landscape where connection is transactional, the chaotic yet vibrant VTubing scene is an anomaly in how the sunken cost seems greater than the gain.

Thanks to y’all, I realised that what I gained from VTubing has been far more than what it has costed me - human connection, getting to meet people from around the world, being able to develop my media skills and most importantly, remembering how to laugh and simply have fun again. For that, I could only say thank you.

This message is getting too long so I will keep the technicalities brief:
- I will still be uploading VODs on my YouTube weekly till the final stream has been uploaded.
- Once (if) the report is out, I will post it here for anyone who wishes to read it!

Hopefully, I will be able to do the VTubing community justice with my writing.

This is it. My final week streaming. When I started this project, I knew there was an end date, but I never thought that this time will come so quickly. Time flies, but I had so so so much fun thanks to all of you~!

After a lengthy conversation with Knowles, I hate to say it...but GrandStarSuperMa has to end in February instead of end-March as previously planned.
