@itvnews I would think the Home Secretary has more important things to be concerned about. The police have released a statement which demonstrates proportionate and reasonable efforts to safely resolve the matter . What more is required? A public enquiry?
@ray_oak Tempting, very tempting. I am in the middle of completing a course to start a new chapter next year. Best wishes for your tenure as Deputy Chief.
@TomGaymor You are right Tom. I was constantly frustrated that demand far outstripped resources. I saw daily officers working flat out but bureaucracy and often doing what other agencies should be doing meant calls stacking up and ultimately the public getting a raw deal. Investment needed.
@grahamwettone This is fraught with danger. The government needs to invest in professional policing. Just another example of trying to do things on the cheap. We have seen just how backward England is now as a result of chronic under investment.
@ruskin147@DFriesenGlobal@AaronRamsdale98 I often won't read pieces posted on social media. I am glad I stopped and read this. Thank you Aaron for writing it and disclosing some really personal matters and for highlighting wider issues in football and beyond.
@BluelightInfo 100% correct. Policing can't compete with luring people away from the private sector. Radical reform of police pay and conditions is needed.
