KiloWatch involves students, faculty, administration, and staff in an energy management approach that integrates inquiry-based science, math and language arts a
We'll be posting updates on the activities of our KiloWatch teams in @SyracuseSchools and the results of their energy saving efforts throughout the school year!
We're proud to announce that our host, Todd Rogers will be speaking at the 2020 #AEEWorld Virtual Energy Conference on December 1, 2020. Don’t miss his session Behavioral Energy Management 101 from 12:30-1:00 pm. https://t.co/pAQnbxcSW2 #energyefficiency @AEE
Calling all high school students – join our pre-college program this November in a special Maker workshop and build your own CO2 sensor with @LamontEarth experts https://t.co/tSbgN73nI4
Even though we’re not operating in schools at the moment, you can still participate! Look around your home for any computers, cell phone chargers, TVs, coffee makers, etc. and unplug those Phantoms! #remotelearning
Every year around this time, our #KiloWatch kids organize a Phantom Friday 👻 event to raise awareness of how many devices draw power in sleep mode or turned off, known as #PhantomLoad.

If you're starting to wonder how you're going to keep you students engaged after so many weeks of #distancelearning, check out this list of games, videos, and other fun activities on #energyeducation that @NEED_Project has put together! https://t.co/3tbC9k8TRG
Although @SyracuseSchools have moved to distance learning in an effort to keep our communities healthy, we want to share what our @mckinleySCSD team was up to before the closures. Our Data Wall is waiting by the front door for students, staff, and visitors when they return!
@Bellevue_El knows saving energy is a team effort. The #KiloWatch team has been monitoring energy waste in their classrooms since December and found only 1 instance of computers left on in empty classrooms. Big thanks to the teachers who model #energyconservation every day!
Happy #WorldEnergyEfficiencyDay! Remember to keep your classroom doors and windows closed when heating or air conditioning systems are on to maximize the efficiency of temperature control systems!
Earlier this week, our students at @mckinleySCSD got a chance to visit the school's boiler room and learn about how the heating system works. #KiloWatch is all about developing a practical understanding of where energy comes from and how it is used!
Energy use is down 6% from the average so far this school year at @HWSmithscsd !! We're proud of our #KiloWatch students for their part in promoting #energyefficiency in their school to save money and reduce their impact on the environment! #SCSDSuccess
