I've been a little low-key worried that my daughter was getting infected by the liberal hivemind, but this conversation last night made me feel so much better!
Olivia: Mom! I came across the most unfortunate creatures online just now... RadFems! Ugh!!
Me: Is that short for "Radical Feminists?"
Olivia: Yes! They're insane and think everything women do is about men. If you color your hair, it's for men. If you wear makeup, it's for men. If you take care of your body, it's "Down with the Patriarchy!!"
Me: Yeah... they don't like attractive, well-maintained women so they have an excuse to remain slobs.
Olivia: Right???! They can be gross if they want to, but I Iike makeup and I like feeling pretty.
Me: NGL, you've felt a little radical lately so this makes me feel so much better about you going off to college.
Olivia: You need to have more faith in me, mom, just cuz I'm nice and care about people, it doesn't mean I'm crazy.
Take heart, parents! If you raise them right they will generally fall back on how you raised them!v🥰

This is the closest we can get to the truth.
Not the shining king of legend.
But a man who stood in the mud and rain when everything around him was falling apart, and still chose to fight.
The myth offers comfort, and makes great movies!
But, the truth offers something rarer: proof that even when the world is burning, one person can still stand their ground, refuse to break and maybe... just maybe... save the world. Even if it's for just a little while.

The real power of Arthur isn’t that he was some chosen one.
It’s that he was just a man who looked at the end of his world and decided he wasn’t going to let it happen without a fight.
Dylan put it best when he said:
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
10/12
Later generations couldn’t stomach the truth.
They needed hope, so they turned this blood-soaked, exhausted fighter into a flawless king with noble ideals and shining castles.
They buried the real man under centuries of pretty lies.
9/12
There was no magic. No wise old wizard. No loyal knights in shining armor. Just exhausted men, bad weather, and constant violence. And still, this one warlord kept standing when almost everyone else had fallen.
He forged on when all hope was lost.
8/12
We still don’t know if “Arthur” was even his real name. It might have been. It might have been a title or a name added centuries later.
What we do know is that the earliest records that survived called him by that name; a man who refused to let his world be erased without a fight.
7/12
But nothing stays dead forever.
Old hatreds, betrayal, and fresh invasions tore everything apart again. At Camlann, Arthur fought his final, savage battle.
He didn’t die a hero’s death. He was cut down in the mud, betrayed and broken like so many others.
6/12
Then came Mount Badon.
A brutal, decisive victory that broke the Saxon momentum so hard it bought Britain decades of fragile peace. For a while, the killing slowed.
For a moment, it looked like someone had actually stopped the end.
5/12
The old sources say he fought twelve battles.
Twelve vicious, grinding fights against overwhelming numbers.
Each victory was paid for in bodies.
Each one bought a little more time before the darkness swallowed everything.
4/12
He didn’t command from safety. He led from the front lines, in the rain, in the mud, in the slaughter. While other leaders crumbled or betrayed their own people, Arthur kept throwing his warband into the teeth of the Saxon advance.
3/12
In the middle of this nightmare, one name eventually survived in the old records.
Arthur.
Not a king by birth. A war leader. A man who took the fight to the enemy when most others were hiding or making desperate deals to survive.
2/12
Rome abandoned Britain and left it to die.
The legions vanished. Cities rotted from the inside.
From the east, Saxon warbands poured in like a plague, burning villages, and slaughtering anyone who stood in their way. From the north and west, the Picts and Irish came for blood.
This wasn’t a golden age. This was the end of the world.

They sold you a lie.
A perfect king. A magical sword. Noble knights in shining armor.
The real Arthur was something far darker.
A brutal warlord in a collapsing world. No crown. No destiny. Just blood, mud, and the will to keep fighting when everything was burning down.
This is what history actually remembers: 🧵
The Florida Python Challenge is officially back! 🐍💰
(Welcome to Florida, or as I like to call it, Jurassic Park!)
Hunters are out in the Everglades right now competing for a share of $25,000 in prizes by removing invasive Burmese pythons.
The reigning champ, Taylor Stanberry, is already back in action and getting some well-deserved spotlight from Flamingo Magazine.
I’m not saying she’s doing God’s work by getting rid of these danger noodles… but I’m also not saying it. 😂
Who else is low-key rooting for the snake hunters this year?!
Big futures start close to home.
