@Leslie_M_BU Reminded me of how fun Jeopardy can be in the classroom! This is how my grade 8 teacher got us to memorize facts about the Roman Empire! I'm so glad that a platform like JeopardyLabs exists, and I'm so glad you introduced me to it! #ICT362
My favourite use of BandLab that Abby mentioned is using it for playing/singing tests! In music, organizing having 100+ students come sing or play their part for you can be unimaginable, and then never happens as frequently as needed! #ICT362
@Abby_Petersen3 presented on integration of technology in music, the demo video she presented was impressive, showcasing the practical application of these concepts in a creative and engaging way. Kudos to Abby for a job well done! #ICT362
I've seen music people use an exercise ball at their desks so they're not in constant stillness! It's too much for anyone's body to sit consistently for more than comfortably possible! As a future teacher, I also agree! #ict362
I have a feeling educators may not spend much time considering if their tech use has elements of The LwICT Model because they are trying to jam their assignment ideas into the elements... but what if you used it in integration with a tech unit... more space to do it! #ICT362
I agree! I found it very fun to see how unlimitedly educational it is! I suggested it would be fun to teach a government unit with Minecraft Education... "you all begin with the same amount of stuff... (devious laugh)." Gotta teach the definition of hierarchy some way... #ICT362
Today in #ICT362 we got to explore with Minecraft Education. We learned how to use Minecraft as a way for students to learn in a creative, fun, and engaging way! My younger self would be absolutely thrilled. 🤩 @PlayCraftLearn
I was thinking the same thing! And now, with the resources we've been provided with, we can continue to explore and play with technology in ways that we never thought of, just because they aren't the traditional way of doing things! #ICT362
Thinking of ways to redefine tasks in the band room in order to integrate more technology, and one idea could be to record virtual ensembles! Band teachers were very creative during COVID and had to do a lot of redefining with tech! #ICT362
In #ICT362 , we've been talking about using the SAMR strategy when using tech for education. This helpful ladder shows the key questions associated with applying the four levels (substitution, augmentation, modification, and redifinition) are listed, as well as how to transition!
https://t.co/MbgCVPaos7 is changing my life! Very quick, fun typing lessons start with step 1 and build on those skills! I completed more than 20 lessons in about 20 minutes! Lessons contain no time restriction and allow you to try again without any shame or guilt! #ICT362
Getting to school can be so hard when the cold hurts... that's why Bandit only goes to puppy school once a week! Any tips on how to not feel miserable about -44⁰? #ICT362
TikTok is one of the most user-friendly content-creating apps around! It allows users to get creative and share their content either with the whole work, OR just their friends (great feature for the classroom!!!). #ICT362
I think as educators, it is important to take emotional capacity breaks where I can take a day to just worry about me and my needs, not the needs of everyone else as well. I find it helps me from getting annoyed! #mbedchat#ICT362
I've noticed lack of motivation being a key factor. I suggest staying organized, having lists, keeping up with chores, and having little daily goals that you can celebrate. Even getting out of bed and having a shower is worth celebrating (or at least I do)! #mbedchat#ICT362
Q4: What are the signs of burnout and how can you recognize them in a colleague? What suggestions do you have that can help your colleagues who are struggling? #mbedchat
Normalizing people's needs! My depression highly impacts my energy levels. Some people don't understand how crushing that can feel. Some often question if it is really necessary for me to cancel my plans or lay in bed ALL day, but it is necessary for my health. #mbedchat#ICT362
I'm still figuring this out, but ideally, I prefer to be done homework by suppertime on weekdays. I manage at Fun N' Games Friday night/Saturday opening (come say hi) and I heavily benefit from having Sundays free, either to catch up on more work or rest! #ICT362
