@SpSallie@TopDoctors Well I think this is the most worrying thing I’ve read for a while from a Doctor. No wonder so many patients are getting fobbed off truly shocking.
@SpSallie NHS do this with every condition they could save so much money if they sent some patients to surgeons first but instead they fob patients off and use the sticking plaster approach eg watch & wait , medication, all delaying and achieves nothing for the patients.
@SpSallie@UHDBTrust I just can’t believe this while on cinacalcet your calcium level can still change resulting in the need to change dosage this seems a dangerous guideline .
@SpSallie This is what the UK do leave patients are they praying we somehow get a miracle cure or just give up . Some countries send you straight to surgeons but then they don’t have NHS what is the answer I really don’t know but so much money has gone into NHS better management ?
@KemiBadenoch If we had no private schools those with money will either send children abroad or maybe just insist standards are raised because they wouldn’t send their children to run down schools. If environment is attractive it raises how we preform for students and teachers.
@SpSallie I wonder if these Drs, Endo and others that think this is ok let alone true would also want to be left with this condition for some it’s horrendous no matter what the levels . It’s cruel and just prolongs the suffering.
@SpSallie Government said waiting lists are coming down what a joke as my father used to say numbers are magical you can change them . More people are going to get diagnosed with this ( if Drs bother to test ) they need to start to help patients .
@SpSallie@rcgp Things need to change going private should be a choice for those that can afford so many having to use personal pensions savings
loans it’s so very sad .
@SpSallie I think everyone should have vitamin D tested this cost modelling just costs people their health and in the long term will cost NHS more money.
@SpSallie@nhsuhcw This is so sad patients going to professionals for help but not heard blood results tell the story but are just dismissed are they not trained or just in the wrong profession . I am disgusted what is going on in the NHS on the flip side no wonder out of work numbers are rising.
@SpSallie WOW I suffered from terrible bone pain, confusion, anxiety ,would say the wrong words ,fatigue ,unable to sleep ,headaches ,dizziness,I felt so cold all the time and at one point thought I was either suffering from dementia going mad or dying non of these symptoms mentioned .
@SpSallie@rcgp Usually your first point of call with this condition is your GP if they are not getting good up to date training on PHPT you are already fighting a battle when you are so poorly it’s not good enough.
@SpSallie Heartbreaking my GP said mine was mildly elevated with calcium at 2.79 if only they could feel the effects from this I’m sure they would want an operation ASAP not years down the line .
@SpSallie You can’t believe the difference that this operation can make to people’s lives yet so many are made to wait for years it’s an utter disgrace .
A group discussion started by a lady asking how much private #parathyroid surgery costs. People are driven by desperation, terrible #NHS waiting times, diabeticians masquerading as endocrinologists, NICE guidelines NG132, all failing patients. The only escape for many is to pay.
