Home from a great day. I loved getting to speak to history ITE colleagues and attend some brilliant workshops.
Oh and how could I forget one of the best parts of my day… being reunited with the great @helen_history#HAConf24
🥁 Subjects with no bursary at all are in real danger of becoming the preserve of the wealthy - or at least those who have the opportunity to save the significant funds required to study & simultaneously undertake placements. Bursaries are needed to ensure equity of access. 1/
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks, but I wanted to thank @helen_history for all of her support, guidance and advice.
I also could not have been successful without the @histassoc and @HTENUK
The last three weeks have been super busy and brilliant.
We have had a great start to our PGCE Secondary course at @BGULincoln for the ‘professional preparation’ part of our curriculum.
We ended our professional preparation by each of them teaching a 30 minute lesson to each other, showcasing their progress and learning over the past three weeks.
I am so excited to see the next part of their teaching journey in schools - next week!
Don't forget to get your tickets for the @MidHistForum 'Widening the Curriculum' conference on 07 October. Two fantastic keynote speakers and a range of workshops to choose from. Perfect for teachers at any stage!

Thrilled to see article by @gabriella_west4 in Teaching History this month, showing how to make a meaningful and powerful enquiry for Yr 8 based on the casket of Tipu Sultan. Short reflection by me at the end on how she used research in the East India Co at Home book @EICatHome
What a morning! Thank you so much to @sclongair for delivering a brilliant session to our PGCE History beginning teachers on Material Culture and how to use it in the classroom @BGULincoln
A perfect way to bring our year to an end.
