Instead of letting people define you, instead of letting circumstances label you, you need to go back to what God said about you. God says, “You can do all things through Christ. You’re equipped and empowered.”
Nothing that has happened to you is a surprise to God. He’s ordering your steps. If the door closed, it was supposed to close. If the person walked away, they were supposed to walk away. Don’t get bitter; keep traveling steadily.
When you go through a disappointment, something doesn’t work out, you can hold on to it and live discouraged, or you can let it go and say, “God, I know You have something better. I know Your plans for me are for good.”
God is so merciful, even when we don’t have the faith, even when we think we’ve reached our limits, God says, “That’s okay. I’m going to show you My favor in spite of that.”
Quit being discouraged by what you see. What you see is subject to change. You don’t know what God is up to. You don’t know what He’s doing behind the scenes.
Don’t focus on the winds, the waves, the impossibilities. Focus on what God said. Let His promises play in your mind. The dream that He put in your heart, every day, thank Him for it. Dare to believe that it’s on the way.
Perhaps today, you don’t feel like you have the strength to move forward, the strength to fight the illness, the strength to raise your children. Remember, when you are weak, He is strong.
God has already defeated every enemy; He’s already planned out your days for good. Take your seat. Live from a place of rest, a place of peace, a place of trust.
