I have intervened for three of these in the past two years. I wouldn't say "rescued", because I just got them out of danger. I am officially an opossum and bird rescuer though. Not by intention, but because they were canine-handled by my dogs.

Piece of history to note: How did we eliminate the horrific practice during the colonial era of burning witches at the stake? We created a constitution that established a secular federal government government. No matter how much our faith means to us, in government we need to protect this. That's because when someone else's faith is in the majority, they won't get to tailor laws to extreme elements of their religion. @angertab
