Taught active listening and respectful student discourse this quarter with something students know! Battle of the candy took place every Monday and Friday for the first 5-10 minutes of class. The ruling is in; @Jolly_Rancher are their supreme candy of choice!
Hi everyone! I just moved to Alaska and could not bring my flexible seating with me! I would appreciate any support you can give to recreate my ideal learning environment (whether you donate, retweet, or like) TIA! #DonorsChoose https://t.co/uxDFriAtPj
@HelpingTeach Just moved to Alaska and had to leave my flexible seating behind! Starting fresh and could really use support in recreating my ideal learning environment! https://t.co/uxDFriAtPj
Do you think you should fill your remaining time in class with more content if you get through your intended stuff early? I feel as if students can be rewarded with a fun game if we get through everything we need to. Why do I feel like Iโm breaking a sacred rule when doing this?
@Mr_Myerscough There is SUCH a big difference in what the 2nd level (almost meeting standard) student work can look like. I think itโs helpful to show them are they barely on their way to meeting the standard or super close to meeting standard.
@Mr_Myerscough It still has 4 levels (not meeting 1-2, almost meeting 3-4, meeting 5-6, above standard 7-8) but increasing the scale makes it easier to place a student on the 4 levels.
@Jstevens009 Have we tried asking the students what they would like for a Monday warmup? Give them choice or their only choice is whether or not to participate. Nothing wrong with a fun warmup to start the week off right!
