@mstucky_slp Dramatic Play/Writing Combos - writing a recipe or a grocery list at kitchen center, creating a menu for a pizza parlor or a bakery, doctor’s orders at a vet station, writing a script or a play for movie station. (Even though we know developmentally they should just be playing!)
Today's learners don't need teachers to spoon-feed them information. Instead, they need teachers that are comfortable enough with the mess to let them figure it out themselves. #ameaningfulmess#education#educators#edchat
LOVED my last session at #LatB51 I’ve tried genius hour before but now I feel like I know more about it and I learned about a few new ways to use apps I already use and a few that were completely new to me. Thanks @mcnairan3 😁 I’ll probably be voxing you soon!
Awesome way to start the day in an inspiring session from @karaknollmeyer Love the idea of unleashing talent in both fellow teachers and students! #LatB51
Incredible video shared from @SirKenRobinson at #LatB51 about the incredible talents that sometimes go unurtured in or education system. https://t.co/n9OjbjFVBd
Just finished two STEAM sessions at the #LatB51 conference! I am trying to push myself because I would like to add more art into my classroom. Getting very excited about some of the things I learned that I can start doing right away!
“I wouldn’t be grading for proficiency yet...right now I’m grading for effort and bravery. Proficiency comes later...You won’t get to proficiency until you get a high score in the effort and bravery department.”
Love this Ross Greene quote from the online class I am taking!
A4: Patience! I know that this is all new. Kids need reminders and repetition for it to become automatic. A friend yesterday picked up her grapes from the floor without a reminder from me, which was not happening a month ago. That felt like a win to me! #MemorialTGOF
