@MrsObach A5 It is a good book because it has good detail. We like how the setting is described. We also like how the kids in her new neighborhood made friends with Regina so fast and were nice to her. We like the dialogue in it. We don't like that she has to move. It is a bit sad.

@MrsObach A4: New Year's Eve is a tradition for a student who likes to stay up late and celebrate. Another student celebrates his birthday with cake. One student can't eat meat on Ash Wednesday, a Christian day of observance. Another student fasts one day a year.

@MrsObach A2: One student in our 4th grade class felt nervous, sad and happy. She thought she wouldn't make friends, but was happy because it was exciting. She was sad to leave her old friends and home. Another student moved from 1 continent then back to the US but doesn't remember it.

@MrsObach A1 Regina is probably feeling sad because she's moving from her homeland and changing lifestyles. It's going to be a big change from Oregon, such as different food, places, housing. She is nervous too because of what she has heard about LA from the adults.

Put a small mirror on your laptop over the camera, open up Zoom or Google Meet and BOOM...you have a document camera! This would also be a great option for kids with Chromebooks to take photos of their written work to upload to Seesaw or Google Classroom! #remotelearning
