Ya girl is blocked again! After my restriction lifted I wrote the group offering to DM the video instead & shared my effort to raise awareness. I linked to my story & articles so users could educate themselves. Seconds later - restricted for “spam”🤬
9 days ago I had a double mastectomy to cut #breastcancer out of my body that wanted to kill me. That was blunt cuz we gotta dive in. Who do I know / who do YOU know who works at @facebook@Meta willing to partner & change the #CommunityGuidelines on female breasts?
1/10 🧵
For the record, the guidelines allow posts like mine. “Uncovered female nipples except in the context of…medical or health context (for example, post-mastectomy, #breastcancer awareness...” Both the AI & the “reviewer” blocked me anyways. https://t.co/MVrR3fPu6U @facebook
@caro_oketch Thanks! Willing to give this a try on my restriction. AND. The larger more important issue is getting at the cause - the guideline itself and the bot that was built around it.
Ya girl got her account restricted for sharing videos & photos of my #BREASTCANCER TREATMENT in a PRIVATE GROUP of #women with BREAST CANCER cuz it showed - ya guessed it - my breasts. The “guidelines” gotta go. Tag in anyone u know working on this or who wants to partner on this
@Quicktake @IndraNooyi As an executive, it may have been a different experience. You may not have been in a position where more pay made much of a difference. But for many women...it does. It makes a huge difference, not just in day-to-day bill paying, but in lifetime income. (See @Forbes)
@Quicktake @IndraNooyi I sincerely worry this reinforces a patriarchal stereotype that women should be grateful and quiet, instead of advocating for their worth. You can be grateful to a company and still have healthy expectations of career growth (which needs to be reflected in your compensation)
