Many of YTTDs backgrounds use layered images to support cases where new events happen without redrawing new backgrounds. For example, the normal background here would be the entire room, while Midori and the open elevator would be layered onto it.

There are many cases where layered backgrounds exist in a “flattened” form, where the all the layers are collected into one image. These are never used in game, but I assume that these are placeholders to build the script around, with layers being put in later.

Although Nankidai is solely responsible for the story and art of YTTD, he has gotten programming assistance from various RPGM developers. mt.saji assisted with the mini games in 2-1, and HIJIKI and Alpha assisted with 3-1.

Additionally, 25.8% have kept Sou alive, while 22.6% have kept Kanna alive.

According to Steam, 78.2% of all YTTD Steam players have met Joe and have gotten the most common achievement in the game (L). In contrast, only 17.4% have completed 2-1 with Alice alive and have gotten the games rarest achievement (R).
