We’ve received disturbing reports alleging that Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi was tortured to near death at Kasenyi SFC military barracks and is now being hidden from the public while receiving treatment before he can be produced.
These reports cannot be dismissed lightly. Many of us have gone through similar ordeals at the hands of this regime and were deliberately hidden from the public until our wounds and the evidence of torture had faded.
While the regime keeps the country distracted with endless diversions, it’s now 10 days since our Deputy President of the Buganda region was abducted in broad daylight and since then, he has never been seen again.
Neither the police nor the army have accounted for his whereabouts.
Where is Hon Muwanga Kivumbi ?
Yesterday, our comrades in Munich, Germany held a peaceful protest denouncing the dictatorship of the criminal regime in Kampala, and calling for the release of all political prisoners. We are grateful to these comrades for raising awareness about the ongoing repression in Uganda. The struggle continues.

Where is Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, two days after his abduction in broad daylight? These provisions (Arts 23 & 24) are not mere suggestions. They're constitutional commands. Sadly those who rule over us now treat them as non-existent...... well, until they themselves find themselves in trouble and want them to come to their aid🤔
Simple and effective, but with the level of corruption in our country, sisubira nti kisoboka. Ate ekirala, with the rate at which our power keeps shutting down out of nowhere, only God knows!
It's indeed for God and Our Country! 🙏🏾
For those busy playing the blame game against @MuwangaMKivumbi, I have a few questions:
What about those who are abducted immediately after being granted court bail? We’ve witnessed this not once, but on several occasions eg, in the cases of late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana.
Who convinced you that silence is a survival strategy under a dictatorship?
Why has the system made so many of you forget your fundamental rights, especially in your own country?
Did you know there were alleged plans to abduct Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi from the court premises yesterday?
Why do you fail to condemn such an act, yet rush to blame the very person who is being targeted?
Wait… you wanted him to massage those who killed his people right?
Silence will not protect you forever. If the system eventually comes for you, I hope the same silence you defended will be enough to rescue you. “Mulifanimununka”😡

A short while ago, I spoke with Hon. Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, our @NUP_Ug Deputy President for Buganda Region. What a delight to see that after several months, he is out of unlawful detention without trial - at least temporarily. As everyone knows, Hon. Kivumbi never committed any offence. The criminals who attacked his home and murdered people are the ones who should be answering for their crimes - and I believe they will, at the right time. For now, we welcome him back, and the other comrades he was detained with.
It is always a great delight to see that even in the midst of so much rot, there are still judicial officers who will rise above the pervasive intimidation and live to their oath.
Museveni’s son said he is very proud of the pain and hurt he is inflicting on former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. He must be very proud of himself, seeing this video. But as the saying goes, no one is tall enough to see the future. One day, the tables will turn and all these atrocities will be accounted for, one by one.
Did he say that we should be glad that those who are arrested are taken to court? How did that statement sit in the hearts of the families of these Ugandans who were abducted by state operatives between 2019 and 2020 and are still missing todate? Disappeared. Silenced. His regime desperately hoping they can be forgotten.
Relieved to learn that Hon. Miria Matembe has been granted bail following her abduction last week. It remains a shame that Matembe, a 73-year-old grandmother with an unblemished record of public service, had to suffer this ordeal in the first place!
Remember, Matembe was subjected to this ordeal because she bruised the fragile ego of Muhoozi Kainerugaba -- the dictator's infantile son -- when she criticized him. It really takes special cowardice for an army commander approaching 60 years of old age to flex State power on a defenceless grandmother whose courage he can never match in 100 lifetimes.
More shameful, the regime that practices sectarianism openly charged Matembe with "Promoting Sectarianism."
Imagine the very regime that breathes and practises sectarianism, claiming the moral authority to prosecute those who expose its sectarianism!
We shall have to unite and find a lasting solution for these blood-thirsty tyrants!
September 1995:
Hon. Miria Matembe, among other outstanding women, celebrating the new Constitution, whose drafting she had been part of, including a strong Bill of Rights in Chapter 4.
Now, at 73 years, she has to helplessly plead like a child in tears before a young magistrate, for things as basic as respecting her right to health and fair hearing! Spending the night in jail with her raw disregarded pain, I can’t imagine what is running through her mind as she flashes back!
