Yesterday, the Ministry of Economic Growth and Infrastructure Development was on site in Cooper’s Pen alongside HEART/NSTA, NHT, NIRa and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, assisting affected families with relocation and access to support, including grants of up to $800,000 to help them get back on their feet.

Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Infrastructure Development with responsibility for Land Titling and Settlements, Hon. Robert Montague, Permanent Secretary Williams and MP Tova Hamilton also visited the relocation sites to assess the progress and ensure the necessary support is being provided.

Dervin Saint Paul has just acknowledged and admitted that he has been denigrating me publicly.

Now what is Dervin denigrating me publicly for?

I said he has not been kind/been quite unkind to me in past tweets and subtweets. I stand 10 toes down on that.

I tried ignoring Dervin but it has been non-stop denigration and harassment since.

Does Dervin treat men in the same way? Not in the least.

A man accused Dervin of being a paid political hack and his only response was “you get paid?”

And Dervin moved on. He did not harass the man, abuse the man nor denigrate the man. He didn’t even call him a liar.

But Dervin has saved all his energy and strength to viciously bully me for saying he has not been kind. Not only is Dervin not kind, this is vulgar misogyny and malice.

Jamaica has a serious problem with violence against women and I do verily believe that it is normalized dysfunction like this that fans the flames.
