Just arrived in the mail. To hold in your hand a physical book that you had written is a thrill like no other.
Preorder your copy now! Out December 3. Thank you.

I'm thrilled to announce that my next book, a biography of the British-born American economist Thomas Cooper (1759-1839), has been accepted by LSU Press and should be published in the fall of 2027.
I'll be speaking at Cumberland tonight, about MVB's run for president on the Free Soil ticket in 1848. It starts 7pm central time, 8pm eastern. https://t.co/CfeUxFLqxg
I had a marvelous time on @xavierbonilla87's Converging Dialogues podcast, where we discussed a wide range of subjects connected to my Van Buren book. Listen here: https://t.co/2idMMcrtwK
James Traub reviewed my book in the Washington Monthly. I liked the nice things he had to say, disliked the criticisms. Funny how that works. https://t.co/ZFr5fqZD7l
Tomorrow at noon I'll be talking with the great Russell Shorto about Dutch history and MVB on the Live From New Amsterdam podcast. It's free but you need to register. Hope you can tune in: https://t.co/mwQSZuJW53
I'll be speaking tomorrow, 12/6, at the @AlbanyInstitute with Akum Norder of @timesunion. Talk begins 5:30, followed by book signing. Hope those of you in the capital region can make it: https://t.co/D96XawiyFy
