@DonutOperator Fun fact the tanks exert less ground pressure than the avg car. Avg car is 44ish psi per wheel where the tank (assuming it’s 60T) only exerts about 14-19 PSI (couldn’t find contact patch info that was reliable so this is approximate) PLUS the treads have rubber pads for parades!

@JefferyThomas @TheMaineWonk Side note just did the math, avg car would exert 44ish PSI avg weight is 4329lbs avg contact patch of a tire is 25inches squared, the tank on the other hand only exerts about 16PSI into the ground (couldn’t find contact patch so google gave me that number)

@JefferyThomas @TheMaineWonk So in preparation for these parades and driving on paved roads they will put rubber pads on the tracks, usually about an inch and a half thick, along with that they will put down inch thick steel plating where the tanks would be turning. I think Mike Rowe did an episode on it too
