In reality,

- Oda always has to cut down content every chapter;

There are tons of stories that he's unable to tell, some end up being told in the SBS

- Weekly Shonen Jump manga authors usually fall sick after a few years of serialization due to terrible working conditions, Oda has currently been in the magazine for the longest so his schedule is different from the rest (delivers 3 chapters every 4 weeks )

- Oda taking breaks affects the pacing of the series, since he has less content per year, he has to choose what to let go of so that the story can progress according to what he envisions ( Usually he sacrifices flashbacks: Brook's, the scabbards, God Valley, Kuma's and Kaido's all have faster pacing than usual )

- God Valley is just lucky that Toei decided to adapt it as a feature movie, it would be the same for any other flashback post hospitalization

- Saying that Oda lacks integrity when he gives his all to deliver us quality chapters even through sickness, uses his breaks to work on other One Piece projects to guarantee that fans can still have quality contents outside of the manga, is very sad I must say...
