@Vexlahh To play a little in their defence for a moment after 6 months of Jagex hyping up a huge update, they announced something so badly written and explained it felt like a huge attack on something that's been a huge part of their lives.

@BeingFucking @Bazz_Army The issue with reignited as a whole is that unless it was a monumental success (unlikely there is 20-30k players dying to join rs3 and needing this to be the reason) 6 months from now we'd be back to square 1.

Focus on good content, and advertising properly.

They did a similar "new and returning" player focused thing years ago, and all it did was mostly encourage existing players to create a temporary short lived account for a few months

@ChevalricRS I think the main issue is the well had already been poisoned on this one.

Could they have made changes to make it "better", yes. But there was always going to be a lingering toxicity towards it, and that wouldn't have been healthy.

@BeingFucking @Bazz_Army The game is consistently at 10-15k players+ at low periods and into the mid 20k concurrent players at peak times.

This wasn't the "once chance", because even if brought new people in, it was pushing old people out.

(This coming from a 22 year Veteran who had a short break in the mid 2010s, came back to OSRS before that community soured me and has loved every second or RS3 since)

@Maz_rs @alex_mattee Would you still be down for Ignited if they said hey, down the line (12 months+) the modes would merge into the main game (economy TBD based on how healthy it is)

I think that the potential permanent separation is a big sticking point for a lot of people on the rs3 side

(Also, reignited is still coming in some moderately changed shape or form, likely with a defined merge date on at least pvm in the next year or so, which is a good change)
