Copied: This happened today in Ilorin
InnaliLlahi wa inna ilayhi rāji'ūn
Our bus driver just died on the road while driving us.
The man was taking us from Sanrab to Unilorin. I was sitting in the front but I wasn't looking up because I was reading the Quran on my phone. The other person beside me just called my attention shouting bàbà multiple times. By the time I looked up, he was already gasping and the bus was drifting away from the road. I had to press the break, took control of the bus and stop the bus from moving.
We took him down. People fanned him and poured water on his face but he wasn't responding. Some medically related students checked his pulse and said it was becoming faint. Another bus driver brought his bus to take him to the school clinic and some of us followed him. The DVC also met us there and followed us with his car. On getting to the clinic he was pronounced dead and we were told we brought him in dead.
Everything happened within 30 minutes.
I have always heard and seen videos of people dying in unexpected situations but I have never witnessed one myself. This man was on my laps on the way to the clinic 😢. I was so emotional 😭. I just had to control myself. The other lady that followed us to the hospital was already crying.
Death will come to everyone and we never know when our time will be. We should always be conscious of this and engage in good deeds at all times. I am just happy for him that he died a fasting Muslim. This incidence is definitely going to have a lasting effect on me.
May Allah take us when he is best pleased with us. May Allah forgive him and accept his return.
