This is a very interesting book by the inventor of the Laffer Curve, which graphically explains that diminishing (marginal) returns sets in after an optimal tax rate that absolutely maximizes tax revenue. If a government charges more than this optimal rate, as many do, a (dead weight) loss to society occurs, which damages the respective country's economy with increasing severity.
